Blue Door Pub (yes, their front door is blue) is a wellknown local pub located in Como that is famous for its selection of “Blucy” burgers. Need something new to listen to? Tune into University of Minnesota’s very own radio on campus! Radio K has given up-and-coming artists a chance to be heard by the student body since 1912. Their long history is one of the reasons Rolling Stone magazine thinks the U of M rocks. They offer a variety of different genres, including podcasts. Check out their website to see the full schedule of tunes, specialty shows and podcasts. While walking to class, riding the Campus Connector to St. Paul or studying, you can tune into Radio K at 770AM, 100.7FM, 104.5FM and 106.5FM or steam them online.
The Twin Cities #1 Hit Radio Station 101.3 KDWB-FM is owned by iHeartMedia. For almost fifty years, KDWB has provided listeners with the top 40 contemporary hit pop music. The station transmitter is located in Shoreview, Minnesota and the studio is in St. Louis Park. Radio host Dave Ryan keeps the crowd entertained with witty comments and segments on relationships. If you’re looking for a change of pace, make sure to tune in on Friday and Saturday nights for Party Zone, which features different remixes. You can stream it online or listen to it on the radio. Make sure to tune in to dance and sing along while driving to class, cooking dinner or hanging out with friends!

Prior to its relocation by the Mississippi, WAM had been located in some spare rooms in the basement of Northrop. In 1934, Frederick R. Weisman gifted the University of Minnesota with this extraordinary art exhibit. Today, the museum offers tours to visitors and has a number of different exhibits throughout the year aimed toward educating the general population. Weisman Art Museum is open all year and is free to the public. Take a break from your day and make sure to check it out.
The Minneapolis Institute of Art has provided the public with remarkable history and culture. With significant expansions, the Institute has grown from 800 pieces of artwork to more than 89,000 objects. Not only is MIA filled with beautiful pieces of artwork, it is one of the largest educators in Minnesota, reaching more than a half-million people every year! MIA offers a number of different specialized traveling exhibits throughout the year. Otherwise, the Art Institute is free to the public.
