Over the moon with students’ GCSE grades Pupils at Wolverhampton Grammar School celebrated a fantastic set of GCSE results today.
This year’s bumper crop of 9, 8 and 7 grades (equivalent to A* and A) are testament to the fantastic teaching and learning environment on offer at this co-educational independent school which has been educating students for over 500 years and is renowned for not only its academic rigour but also for offering exceptional pastoral care and the largest range of extra-curricular activities amongst schools locally. Head, Alex Frazer, said: “This year we have been able to provide an even broader and more diverse GCSE offering at Wolverhampton Grammar School. “We introduced business and computer science GCSEs two years ago, and we also currently have our first cohort of GCSE drama students studying for exams next year. “We are over the moon with the achievement of our Year 11 students, taking exams for the first time since 2019. “I feel extremely proud of how hard they have worked for their exam success, and of the way my staff here have supported them throughout.” This summer, 71.6% of GCSE entries at Wolverhampton Grammar School have been awarded the most sought after 9, 8 and 7 grades (A*/A equivalent), with 85.6% at grades 9 to 6 (A*- B equivalent).
