Exam success for students as their hard work pays off Upper Sixth students at Wolverhampton Grammar School were in high spirits today as they received their long awaited A-level and Cambridge Technical results.

Without the experience of sitting GCSEs, the outcome was always going to be a difficult one to predict but there were smiles all around as students celebrated a 100% pass rate. This year’s A-level success at Wolverhampton Grammar School saw 48% of grades awarded at A* and A, the highest percentage for formal exams at the school for over 10 years.

Majority

The overwhelming majority of the cohort are now off to their university of choice, with destinations including Cambridge, Leeds, Durham, Birmingham, Bristol, and St Andrews. Students will be studying a vast spectrum of subjects ranging from Architecture and Aeronautical & Spacecraft Engineering to Law, Medicine, History & Politics, Modern Languages, Theatre and even Zoology. Head Alex Frazer said: “I am incredibly proud of our students; they have had a testing time over the last few years, but their hard work has been justly rewarded and they thoroughly deserve the success they

have achieved today. I thank all my staff who have worked tirelessly to support them and uphold our tradition of academic excellence.” Wolverhampton Grammar School

prides itself in offering a timetable that is built around students’ interests rather than limiting students to choose from a restricted set of subject blocks.

A choice of 20 A-level and 2 Cambridge Technical courses are taught in small classes of no more than 15. For students expecting GCSE results next week it is not too late to

enquire about joining Wolverhampton Grammar Sixth Form this September. Call the Admissions team on 01902 422939 to find out more.
