MOUNT MORGAN UNIT HELPS QLD SES CELEBRATE 50 YEARS
Queensland SES celebrated 50 years of service in December 2025. To enable all SES Groups to be part of the celebrations, it was decided a number of flags with the 50 year logo on them, would be sent around the state to each Region. March was the month allocated to Central Region to have the flag. Each Group in the Region were to choose a site of significance in their town to have their photo taken with the flag. Choosing the site for the Mount Morgan photos was an obvious choice, the Mount Morgan Mine Site. Heritage Minerals were contacted for approval for the Mount Morgan Group to access the site and they were only too happy to accommodate the members after completing online site inductions. Members braved the inclement weather and mud to have the photo taken. As well as the photo each flag is being signed by each Group Leader to commemorate the visit to the Group. A huge thank you to everyone who attended for the photo shoot as well as Heritage Minerals for allowing the Mount Morgan SES access to the Mine.
