Greetings M.S.D.W.T. Staff! Happy May! Please let us begin by celebrating each of you! Happy “Teacher” Appreciation Week! Washington Township is filled with amazing staff! Our students and school community are so fortunate to have amazing staff members leading the way with teaching and learning each day! THANK YOU! It is hard to believe that we are embarking upon the Summer of 2021. We have had an unusual year but we have so much to celebrate. Speaking of celebrations, we are currently tabulating the final steps from this year’s Step Challenge and will be announcing the winners SOON! Please watch for a SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT SOON! As we embark upon summer, we remind you to reach out to Tania or Suzanne with any questions or if you need support to get you moving towards your wellness goals! This is our final official communication for this school year but we welcome your emails or phone calls. Exercise can help lower high blood pressure as much as many medications. Regular aerobic exercise such as brisk walking is recommended for people with hypertension by health authorities such as the American Heart Association. The clinic – operated by IU Health – will maintain regular business hours Monday-Friday throughout the calendar year. The clinic will only be closed in observation of all legal holidays, or in the event of a maintenance issue or travel restrictions issued by Marion County. Free Counseling Info Every employee, including their spouse and children under age 26, has access to free counseling through our IU Health Employee Assistance Program. Counselors are available 24/7 to provide support by phone. Simply call 317-962-8001. This benefit is available to you and your immediate family even if you aren’t covered by the MSDWT health plan.

What’s Cooking?... Dolor Sit Amet Flourless Black Bean Brownies Nutrition Highlights (per 2 inch serving) 89 calories, 3g fat, 15g carbs, 3g protein, 3g fiber Ingredients 1 (15 ounce) can low sodium black beans, drained and rinsed 2 large eggs 1/2 cup sugar 1/4 cup cocoa powder 1/2 teaspoon instant coffee granules 1/2 teaspoon baking powder 1 teaspoon vanilla 1/4 cup chopped dark chocolate, melted and slightly cooled 1/2 cup dark chocolate chips or chunks Preparation -Heat oven to 350F. Line an 8x8" baking dish with parchment or spray with oil. -Blend all ingredients except for unmelted chocolate in a high-powered blender until smooth, 1 to 2 minutes. -Stir in chocolate and pour into prepared pan. Bake 20 to 25 minutes. Cooking and Serving Tips Avoid over-cooking—the designated time should be just about enough, but you can check before removing from the oven.
