Summer 2018

Summer’s here The Finchley Charities’ Newsletter

Staff & Trustees Housing Services Manager Welcome to Claire Young, our new Housing Services Manager. Claire joined The Finchley Charities in April. “I have worked in the social housing sector for almost 25 years for a number of organisations that offer housing with support. I have set up services for young people, including care leavers, young parents and those who are vulnerable and homeless. In recent years I have managed sheltered accommodation and developed teams that provide support to enable people to live independently for as long as possible.” “I am delighted to be part of the Finchley Charities team and look forward to meeting many more of the residents in the near future”. Retirement Party at Homefield Gardens Liz Caldwell and Janet Gunter will be retiring as SHOs at Homefield Gardens at the end of August and we are sure you will join us in thanking them for all their hard work and support over the years. A retirement party in their honour was held at Homefield Gardens on Friday 29th – the weather was perfect and so were the cakes! Please see pictures overleaf. New Trustee The Finchley Charities would like to welcome our new Trustee, Graham Old. Graham has lived in East Finchley for 32 years and worked for many years as a Management Accountant in the reinsurance industry—subsequently he became a tax inspector. He was elected to Barnet Council in 2010, having previously served as a Councillor in Merton. His main interests are reading and the theatre.
