Someone asked me recently to explain my work. This isn't the first time that I was asked. In my work, I'm not aiming to excel in any pure state, mainly because I don't believe there is any undiluted condition. After living in Taos, New Mexico my outlook on art had changed. My work was no longer a study in beauty treatments and impressions . It became a study of inner space. Those who have spend some years in the high mountain desert.. or any organic place might be more responsive to the unusual effects the natural enviroment has on brain structure.
Kundalini , Arlene C Guerrero Collection 2009 Painting is self hypnosis for me. Much of my work is originated by a trace of image streaming. I think art is a synthesizer for the omni self. My interest in collecting and exploring Native American and African Art lead me to conclude that there is a link between the temporal lobes, pareidolia and art.
