September has had a lot of ups and downs for MIT Acad emy, but I hope that hasn’t dampene d any of your spirits! First of all, thank you so much for an amazing Club Ru sh! Although I had to run another table, I was right next to Ke y Club to see first-han d what an incredible turnout we had. I ho pe to see the numbe recruits reflected in o r of new ur first meeting on Tu esday! :) RTC was also incred ible, and on behalf o f MITA I’m so grateful for everybod y who supported ou r Lie Governor and RTC A ssistant Chair Evan in utenant the smooth running of this even t. It was great to me et so many new people from across R egions 9 and 15, an d I admire everyone who put in the effort to run a workshop fo r RTC! I can’t wait to see this learning a pplied to the rest of the term!! Finally, a shout-out to th ose who successfully last month’s crosswo completed rd puzzle: Ernst Malic ad and Xander Tseng! (And recognit ion for Kylle Bibat an d Evan Magno, who gave it a shot and g ave up.) I realized th e August was very MITA-specific… so I tried to make this m onth’s puzzle solvab for all members of D le 8W. Thank you for readin g this far! Saturday, August 29
Division 8 West gathered at Shenandoah Park in American Canyon to prepare for the club rush season, with arts and craft supplies, as well as treats for a mini bake sale, provided by Lieutenant Governor Evan Magno and Division Fundraiser Coordinator Ninoshka Gramajo. Officers and members alike decorated informative tri-folds, created cardboard and paper keys, and enjoyed treats from the bake sale over the afternoon. In the later hours, once all of our Key Clubbers had a chance to purchase treats, MIT Academy and members of the DLT walked around Shenandoah Park and the nearby Silver Oak Park to sell M&M cookies and 8-ball-themed cake pops to parkgoers, which was met with an incredible profit! This was a great opportunity for our division to prepare for recruitment season at our respective schools, as well as promote Key Club to one of our local cities!

MIT Academy hosted its annual Club Rush during lunch in the midweek of September 21. While Secretary Dayanira Madrigal and Treasurer Natalia Olivas had to prepare the senior’s student store during this time, their support was felt from afar by President Claire Naing, Co-VicePresident Janice Barrera, Co-Historians Gabriella Flores and Xander Tseng, and Technology Editor Axel Davis, who ran Key Club’s table. From this event, we recruited over 30 new members and taught even more about what Key Club is and the benefits of joining. We gave students multiple gifts and photo opportunities to commemorate the beginning of their Key Club journeys, with visual materials created by Claire, Xander, and Axel! This event excited our whole board for our first meeting on Tuesday, September 29.
