A Global Community Approximately 25 percent of MMA’s cadets hail from abroad, bringing diversity and global perspective to cadet life and academics at MMA. From more than 25 different states and from countries such as Brazil, Rwanda, Portugal, Mongolia, China, Mexico, Namibia, Vietnam, Ecuador, El Salvador and more, boys and young men from around the world form tight bonds as they become MMA brothers.

Character Comes First Character is shaped and leadership is learned through consistency, accountability and clear expectations. Cadets develop responsibility by meeting daily standards, such as maintaining their uniforms and living spaces, reporting on time and following through on commitments. Cadet leadership roles, Army JROTC, athletics and activities such as Scouts and Color Guard teach cadets accountability for their actions and decisions. They discover that leadership is about service, not authority. Service learning further strengthens this foundation. By supporting local organizations, cadets learn the value of contributing to their community and acting with purpose beyond themselves.

Guided and Supported Cadets are known, supported and challenged at MMA. They are guided day and night by a coordinated team of adults — including faculty, athletic coaches, health center staff and company leadership advisors who oversee residential life — all working in partnership with families to provide consistent care, motivation and accountability. Small class sizes, averaging 15 cadets or fewer, allow teachers to know each cadet personally and provide the attention and accountability that support academic growth. Screen time is limited to support sustained focus and deeper learning. MMA’s relational teaching philosophy emphasizes strong, purposeful relationships, helping faculty engage cadets effectively by understanding their interests, strengths and challenges. Mandatory evening study hall reinforces personal responsibility, strong study habits and time management.

Challenged to Grow Every cadet at MMA is challenged to push beyond his perceived limits. Through intentional physical and mental challenges, cadets build resilience, confidence and courage. New cadets complete the Crucible, a demanding daylong event that emphasizes goal-setting, teamwork and perseverance. Throughout the year, additional challenges strengthen both body and mind, from rappelling and obstacle courses to leading peers through training. Opportunities for growth extend well beyond the classroom. Cadets explore athletics, visual arts, music, leadership teams, Scouts, equestrian programs and outdoor adventure activities across MMA’s expansive campus, which features a paintball field, climbing wall, rappel tower, trails, lakes and more. Together, these challenges and opportunities help cadets grow in confidence, capability and character.

Confidence Through Structure Structure is a cornerstone of the MMA experience. Each day follows a clear rhythm that teaches cadets how to manage their time, meet expectations and take responsibility for themselves. Cadets wake early, attend formation, participate fully in classes and athletics and attend structured study hall each evening. This consistency helps boys replace distraction with discipline and uncertainty with confidence. Creating habits that form strong character, routines reinforce self-discipline, attention to detail and personal pride. On weekends, our activities and recreation director plans supervised outings and on-campus activities that allow cadets to relax, explore new interests and build camaraderie, whether attending a major league baseball game or experiencing cultural events, while still reinforcing responsibility and accountability.

Every Cadet Counts Participation is not optional at MMA. Every cadet is part of the corps — growing, contributing and belonging. MMA cadets live, learn and train together 24/7, forming a brotherhood rooted in shared experiences, mutual accountability and respect. Older cadets mentor younger ones, teams support one another, and every boy is known by name. This constant connection builds confidence, responsibility and a powerful sense of belonging. MMA offers a full range of middle school and high school athletic programs, with opportunities to compete at district, state and national levels. Our equestrian program offers an alternate athletic option, helping cadets gain a sense of accomplishment and pride through training, caring for and riding horses.

Middle School: Building the Foundation Middle school cadets in grades 7 and 8 learn organization and social skills to prepare them for the rigors of high school. Structure and care ensure younger cadets feel secure while being challenged to grow. Hands-on learning, mentorship from older cadets, fun outdoor activities and guided study hall help middle school boys develop strong academic and social skills. These years lay the foundation for future success.

High School: Preparing for What's Next High school at Missouri Military Academy prepares cadets for the academic demands of college and the responsibilities of adulthood. Cadets manage leadership roles and rigorous academic and athletic schedules. They set goals and take ownership of their performance within a structured, supportive environment. Cadets receive support in planning their schedules to meet their goals, along with structured standardized test preparation. A full-time college placement office guides cadets through college applications and scholarships. The MMA senior class annually achieves 100 percent college acceptance, with millions of dollars in scholarship offers. Qualified cadets may earn college credit through the College Triumph Program, while the postgraduate gap year option supports cadets seeking additional academic refinement or maturity before college.

Campus size: 288 acres Travel: MMA is approximately 2 hours from the city of St. Louis, MO; 2.5 hours from Kansas City, MO; and 45 minutes from Columbia, MO, home of the University of Missouri. All three of these communities offer airports for easy access to the Missouri Military Academy campus.
Average class size: 15 cadets, with many classes having less than 10 cadets Program of studies: 4x4 block schedule requires cadets to take 4 courses each semester, enabling cadets to take 8 courses every school year; Triumph Program enables qualified cadets to earn college credit while in high school Academic focus: A supervised mandatory study hall is held every evening, Sunday through Thursday, from 7:15 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
