MEET THE ARTIST

Born in 1980, Torabi has felt drawn to ar since childhood. Seeing a beautiful painting would set his hear racing, and he began drawing with charcoal and chalk on any surace he could fnd. Though his early experiments tested his mother’s patience, his parents encouraged his talent. His father ofen sat for porraits, helping Torabi refne his technique, and by his teenage years, he was already receiving commissions for religious porraits.

In 2010, Torabi moved to Turkey, where he found aristic freedom and acceptance. Still, he dreamed of working in the United States and, in 2012, relocated through the United Nations Aristic Freedom Refugee Program. He now lives in Atlanta, pursuing his fne ar career while also perorming music in his free time. His frst series in his new location, Life in Motion, refects the café and gathering scenes he missed. The works combine collage with his “blurred motion” style, blending loose, abstract brushstrokes with detailed porraiture. This balance reveals the depth and versatility of Torabi’s aristic talent and his drive to keep growing creatively.

“I let the image move frst, then I fnd the fgure within it. That tension is where the story lives.”

LIFE IN MOTION

Series

Torabi’s frst series in his new location, Life in Motion, refects the café scenes and everyday gatherings he had grown homesick for. These works hold onto personal memories, using collage and his “blurred motion” approach to suggest movement, passing moments, and the feeling of being in a space rather than documenting it exactly.

Loose, abstract brushstrokes sit beside more detailed fgures, creating a balance between atmosphere and presence. This contrast shows both his range and his instinct for storytelling through paint. His work continues to evolve as he pushes himself creatively, staying deeply connected to the process of making.

OBSESSION

Series

Torabi’s Obsession series centers on movement and the energy of city life. Each piece returns to the bicycle as a recurring subject, broken down into loose shapes, strong color, and expressive brushwork.

The compositions mix geometry with spontaneity, suggesting motion rather than describing it literally. Instead of focusing on the object alone, the work captures the feeling of riding through a city—the pace, the freedom, and the everyday rhythm of movement.

BLURRED VISION

Series

Blurred Vision explores nature through a sofened, dreamlike lens, where light and color fow together into gentle, shifing landscapes. Torabi uses blending and texture to capture moments that feel familiar yet feeting—refections on water, changing skies, and dappled sunlight that linger in memory.

The series blurs the line between realism and abstraction, leting atmosphere and feeling guide the work rather than strict detail.

ILLUMINATION

Series

Illumination focuses on movement, light, and instinct. Torabi builds each piece through layers of color, line, and abstract form, leaving space for the image to shif as you spend time with it. Set against light, neutral backgrounds, the compositions stay open and breathable rather than tightly controlled.

The series refects how he works—loosening structure, leting ideas surace, and allowing room for diferent readings instead of locking in a single meaning.

SUNKISSED

Series

Torabi’s Sunkissed series focuses on nature and the way light moves across it. Each piece reworks familiar landscapes into loose, expressive scenes, using layered color and brushwork to capture the feeling of sunlight through trees rather than exact detail.

From quiet winter light to the warmer tones of autumn and spring, the series refects how the landscape shifs with the seasons. Torabi’s use of color and light brings a sense of atmosphere to each work, where nature feels present, changing, and full of quiet energy.

AFFECTION

Series

Torabi’s Afection series centers on color, movement, and feeling. With loose, expressive brushstrokes and a bold palete, each piece explores the energy of blooming forals without aiming for realism. Vases and forms act as simple anchors for compositions that feel lively and spontaneous.

From layered petals to textured backgrounds, Torabi approaches each work with a sense of care—for nature, for the process, and for the act of painting itself. These pieces aren’t meant to be perect or still; they carry the freshness and personality of fowers in motion.
