BIOS Alex Campea John Alex proudly makes their debut at Milwaukee Rep with this beautiful story. Favorite roles include Jacob/Potiphar/Pharaoh in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat; Lewis in Pippin (Skylight Music Theatre); Father in Violet (TheatreSquared); George Bailey in It’s a Wonderful Life (Memories Ballroom); and Ernie the Moocher in Guys on Ice (The Palace Theater). Alex also played “Hunter” in the short film Stars Behind the Clouds, which won “Best Short” at the Golden State Film Festival in 2023. Thanks to Shirley Hamilton Talent and to my cat, Ruth, for allowing me to force affection on her. @thealexcampea Kelly Doherty Sarah Kelly is a Milwaukee-based theater artist and proud UW–Whitewater alum with a BFA in Theatre Performance. She has been fortunate to work with many of Wisconsin’s leading theater companies, including Milwaukee Chamber Theatre, Forward Theater Company, Next Act Theatre, Northern Sky Theater, and First Stage. Favorite roles include Annie Wilkes (Misery), Josie (A Moon for the Misbegotten), Bodey (A Lovely Sunday for Creve Coeur), Miss Trunchbull (Matilda), and Williamina (Silent Sky). Eva Nimmer Nora Eva is thrilled to return to Milwaukee Rep for this beautiful story! A multidisciplinary theatre artist, Eva’s work has been featured on stages across Wisconsin. Selected acting credits: Milwaukee Rep (It’s a Wonderful Life: A Live Radio Play, Lumberjacks in Love, The Nativity Variations); Next Act Theatre (God’s Spies, The Revolutionists); Renaissance Theaterworks (Witch, Actually); and Peninsula Players Theatre (Write Me a Murder, Ripcord). Frogwater Fiddle & Guitar John “Jack” Nicholson and Susan Nicholson, known together as Frogwater, are delighted to make their Milwaukee Repertory Theater debut. They are especially thrilled to be part of Katie Dahl’s inaugural Wisconsin-based musical. Frogwater has been fortunate to work through the years with Renaissance Theaterworks, First Stage, and the Peck School of the Arts. Frogwater has been honored multiple times by WAMI (Wisconsin Area Music Industry), and The Shepherd Express Readers’ Poll. Frogwater performs throughout the year at festivals, pubs, house concerts, schools, libraries, senior residences and nursing homes. Music and the arts are what unites us and keeps us healthy and happy. Milwaukee’s arts community is something to behold and we must keep it robust and working. Thank you for supporting our arts family! CREATIVE TEAM Katie Dahl Book, Music & Lyrics Katie is a nationally touring singer-songwriter and musical playwright who makes her yearround home in Door County, Wisconsin. As a performing songwriter known for wry humor and deep vulnerability, Katie plays more than 100 shows a year across the country. In 2025 Katie won the prestigious Kerrville New Folk Songwriting Contest; Dar Williams has called her work “the very best kind of songwriting.” In addition to The Fisherman’s Daughters, Katie’s theater work includes Victory Farm (co-written with Emilie Coulson and James Valcq, named by the Journal Sentinel as one of its “Top 10 Productions of 2017”) and two other musicals in progress. In her free time, Katie enjoys fiction reading, cookie baking, swimming, Packers football, and time with her partner, son, and dog; as well as leading groups of fans on trips to Ireland, Scotland, and Alaska. Molly is a Wisconsin native and splits her time between Milwaukee and Door County, where she serves as Artistic Director of Northern Sky Theater and has helped bring thirty world premieres to the stage. Recent directing credits include Sister Act at Skylight Music Theatre, Every Brilliant Thing at Milwaukee Chamber Theatre, AIrness at Forward Theater Company, and The Best Christmas Pageant Ever at First Stage. Molly is also an actor and her past Milwaukee Rep credits include Lumberjacks in Love, The Front Page, The Mill on the Floss, A Christmas Carol, and a full season internship in 2000–01 when she was fresh out of college. She looks forward to choreographing George and Gracie: A Love Story here in the Stackner later this year. Alissa Rhode Music Director/Arrangements Alissa is a composer, arranger/orchestrator, music director, pianist, and vocalist. A longtime collaborator with Northern Sky Theater, she has contributed to the development of more than 20 new musicals. She specializes in leading small to midsized ensembles, collaborating with actormusicians, and crafting orchestrations tailored to performers’ strengths. Regional credits include Milwaukee Rep, Skylight Music Theatre, Milwaukee Chamber Theatre, First Stage, Children’s Theater of Madison, Door Shakespeare, and more. Her original scores include Girls on Sand, Sunflowered, Dairy Heirs, As You Like It, and Victory for Victoria. Alissa holds degrees from UIUC and UW– Milwaukee. Her music is available on major streaming platforms. Lisa Schlenker Scenic Designer Lisa is delighted to be back at Milwaukee Rep with her Northern Sky colleagues, where she serves as Resident Scenic Designer and Production Manager. For over three decades, Lisa has devoted time and passion to advancing skills in prop making, scenic design, and production management. Her book with

BIOS (CONT.) co-author Sandra Strawn, The Properties Director’s Tool Kit, is available through Focal Press and on Amazon. Lisa has recently collaborated with Forward Theater Company, The Florentine Opera, Next Act Theatre, Milwaukee Chamber Theatre, Renaissance Theaterworks, First Stage, and Opera Lafayette. She is a proud member of USA 829. Karen Brown-Larimore Costume Designer Karen is excited to be designing costumes again for Milwaukee Repertory Theater. Her costumes have graced the stages of Forward Theater Company, Madison Opera, Northern Sky Theater, Madison Ballet, Capital City Theatre, and Skylight Music Theatre. Recent designs include Primary Trust (Forward Theater Company), It’s a Wonderful Life: The Musical (Capital City Theatre), and Something in the Water (Northern Sky Theater). She is a proud member of IATSE in Madison. Her design work may also be found in many homes, as she created the original Molly, Samantha, and Kirsten wardrobe collections for the American Girl dolls. Jason Fassl Lighting Designer Jason has designed nearly 40 productions with Milwaukee Rep, including Hedwig and the Angry Inch, Titanic, Run Bambi Run, The Coast Starlight (scenic, lighting & projection design), and most recently Come From Away. Many of his Rep productions have been collaborations with Northern Sky Theater and American Folklore Theatre, having now designed 10 NST/ AFT productions at Milwaukee Rep. Jason has consumed mass quantities of electricity across Wisconsin at Milwaukee Rep, Milwaukee Ballet, American Players Theatre, The Fireside Dinner Theatre, First Stage (Associate Artist), Northern Sky Theater, Milwaukee Opera Theatre, Vanguard Milwaukee, and many others. Jack Purves Sound Designer Jack Purves is excited to debut their first sound design at Milwaukee Rep! Jack has also worked as an audio engineer across Wisconsin at Northern Sky Theater, Skylight Music Theatre, The Fireside Dinner Theatre, and at the Gateway Playhouse in New York. Design credits include She Kills Monsters (UW–Parkside) and the following Northern Sky Theater productions: Cheeseheads, the Musical; The Fisherman’s Daughters; Reality Trip; and Something in the Water. Jonathan Hetler Casting Director (he/him) Jonathan is a producer, director, and teaching artist based out of Milwaukee. He currently serves as the Artistic Producer overseeing all casting and special events at Milwaukee Rep. Notable directing highlights include It’s a Wonderful Life: A Live Radio Play and Dino! An Evening with Dean Martin (Milwaukee Rep); a fully immersive Rent and La Cage aux Folles (Outskirts Theatre); The Servant of Two Masters (Marquette University); Romeo and Juliet (Ohio University); Pippin (Ohio Valley Summer Theater); and serving as Associate Director for Titanic the Musical and A Christmas Carol (Milwaukee Rep).He holds an MFA in Directing from Ohio University and an MBA from Regent University. BIOS (CONT.) Mark Clements Artistic Director Mark is an awardwinning international theater director whose work has appeared in over 100 major theaters throughout Europe and the United States. He began his tenure as Artistic Director with the 2010/11 Season by bringing musicals to the mainstage, starting a tradition that is now the highlight of every season. Mark has directed over 30+ productions at Milwaukee Rep including World and American Premieres, and his own adaptation of the current A Christmas Carol. Prior to joining Milwaukee Rep, Mark served as an Associate Artistic Director for several UK theater companies, most notably, Artistic Director for the awardwinning Derby Playhouse in the UK where he directed over 40 productions. He has been nominated for an Olivier Award and several UK Theatre Awards, and has won three Barrymore Awards in Philadelphia. He created and directed the West End and UK National Tour of Soul Train. Mark is currently working with Ayad Akhtar on adapting his critically acclaimed novel American Dervish for the stage to make its World Premiere in an upcoming season.

Chad Bauman Ellen & Joe Checota Executive Director Since 2013, Chad Bauman has led Milwaukee Rep through a period of extraordinary growth, transforming it into one of the nation’s most prolific regional theaters with over 700 performances annually. Under his leadership, the Rep eliminated debt, doubled its endowment, grew net assets from $16 million to over $100 million and opened the state-of-the-art Associated Bank Theater Center. Previously he served as Associate Executive Director of Arena Stage opening the Mead Center for American Theater in 2010. A passionate advocate for the arts, he serves on several local boards, holds an MFA in Producing from CalArts and is pursuing a doctorate in organizational leadership from North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
