NAACP Milwaukee Branch hosts '2022 Freedom Fund Dinner'

On Friday, October 21, 2022, the Milwaukee Branch of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) hosted their "2022 Freedom Fund Dinner," at the Wisconsin Center District, 400 West Wisconsin Ave. This year's theme was "NAACP: This is Power," and featured many local elected leaders of color. The event was hosted by NAACP Milwaukee Branch President Clarence P. Nicholas, MC'd by the Honorable Judge Maxine White, event chair was Dr. Gloria Pitchford-Nicholas and the keynote speaker was the NAACP Board of Directors Chairman Leon W. Russell.
Greater Milwaukee Urban League hosts open house for new satellite office
On Wednesday, October 13, 2022, the Greater Milwaukee Urban League celebrated the grand opening of their new satellite site located at 3410 W. Silver Spring Dr. (inside the World Outreach Building) with a open house. Members of the community and the public were invited to take part with refreshments, tours, door prizes, information on employment, education, advocacy and much more.

“The new satellite office will enhance our capabilities to prepare people seeking employment. We intend to help create a human pipeline of talent for employment in five targeted prime industries in the Milwaukee area: technology, manufacturing, health care, construction and the skilled trades,” said Dr. Eve M.
