There are dozens of American Red Cross volunteers at these two military medical installations working in various areas, including the information desk, many clinics, the pharmacy, the inpatient ward, and as animal assisted therapists. Most volunteers do administrative or receptionist duties. Some volunteers with veriď€ ed medical certiď€ cation, do more with patient care. Dental Assistant program â€“ two days a week, 10 to 12 month program where selected volunteers learn to be dental assistants and can work for civilian dentists after they complete the program. Offered only on Fort Eustis. Summer Youth Volunteer program is ongoing until the end of August for military dependents from 13 to 17 with a military ID.
