Theseorganizationsareusuallyindesperate need of people willing to roll up their sleevesand do thework, so if you’re willingtocommit thetime,you can uncover

opportunitiestotry on your ownleadershiphatandgrowthoseskills,evenbefore youare in an official leadership position withinyourownorganization.

The one thing I’dchangeabout HamptonRoads: Iwould love to see astronger regional brandfor attracting tourists and recruitingorretainingourworkforce.Each city brings unique strength to the table, but the regionisgreater than the sum of itsparts.

Region’sbiggestasset:Ithinkthatfora regionthathassomuchtoofferalready,itis impressiveandexcitingthatthereisstillso much room for growth.The cityofPortsmouth is agreat example of this.There aresomanyexcitingdevelopmentsonthe horizon, and Ilook forwardtoseeing the positive impact they willhavefor Portsmouth,HamptonRoadsandVirginia.

Downtime:AsI’msureotherparentscan attest to,havinglittlechildren (or probablychildrenofanyage)doesn’tleavemuch timeforhobbies!Sorightnow,I’mfocused on integrating my work and home lifeina waythatlets me show up in both spaces wholeheartedly.
