Commander’s and Sergeant Major’s Corner Running on Perimeter Road: The Physical Fitness Test (PFT) and formation runs will be temporarily unauthorized on the MCAS New River Perimeter Road beginning on 5 May, 2014 due to safety concerns associated with construction and marina traffic. The Aviation Memorial Course will be used for PFTs starting at the New Gym (AS-4400) as described in MCAS New River PFT Letter of Instruction dated 5 May, 2014. Perimeter Road may be reopened for PFT and formation runs once construction is complete. Units are encouraged to use Jack’s Point Road for formation runs. This issue of the RotoVue, I would like to take the time to address two topics; the first is the visitor policy in all of the enlisted barracks aboard Marine Corps Air Station New River, the second is the Interactive Customer Evaluation, or ICE system. The other Sergeants Major aboard the installation and I have standardized the visitor hours at all of the enlisted barracks aboard the air station. Effective immediately, non-resident visitors above the age of 18 are authorized at enlisted barracks from 9 a.m.-10 p.m. during the week and from 9 a.m.-midnight on weekends and holidays. Signs are being posted at the barracks buildings with these hours listed. Anyone visiting a barracks they do not live in is required to check in with that barracks’ duty noncommissioned officer. Additionally, anyone hosting a visitor of the opposite gender is required to leave their room door open. The Interactive Customer Evaluation (ICE) system affords patrons of various installation services, such as the Child Development Center, Commissary and Exchange, the opportunity to submit comments about the level of service they received, or about any questions or issues they may have with those services. All ICE system comments, whether positive or negative, receive the highest level of visibility, to include the MCAS New River station commander. All patrons are encouraged to use the ICE system to bring up any issues or questions they may have with installation services and also to make comments about positive interactions they have with the individuals providing those services.

with concurrence from North Carolina Department of Environment and Natural Resources (NCDENR), are beginning the Five‐Year Review of environmental cleanup actions at MCIEAST‐MCB CAMLEJ. A Five‐Year Review is required by Section 121 of CERCLA to ensure that environmental cleanup actions are adequately protecting human health and the environment at sites where any hazardous substances, pollutants, or contaminants remain in‐place while cleanup is ongoing. The last Five‐ Year Review was completed in 2010 and the report on this Five‐Year Review will be available in 2015.
MRSPP: The Department of the Navy is updating the MRSPP to close 20 sites where no further action is needed, update
information for the 6 sites under investigation, and to add 3 new sites. The MRSPP scores sites based on site conditions and the potential risk posed to human health and the environment. The results of the scoring will be used to sequence priorities for remaining sites at MCIEAST‐MCB CAMLEJ and with other Navy/Marine Corps munitions response sites.
