Marine Heavy Helicopter Squadron (HMH) 464 held a change of command ceremony inside their hanger aboard Marine Corps Air Station (MCAS) New River, Feb. 20. During the change of command, Lt. Col. Matthew T. Robbins relinquished his command of HMH-464 to Lt. Col. David C. Borkowski after more than 18 months of faithful service to the squadron with the passing of the squadron colors and a hearty handshake. While under the command of Robbins, HMH-464 amassed more than 3,482 flight hours, ensuring that essential aviation support was provided for both ground and logistical combat elements. HMH-464 also conducted more than 10,100 maintenance actions and 170,000 maintenance hours all without a single aviation or ground, class-a mishap. Among a host of other accomplishments, HMH-464 conducted training with two RQ-11B Raven unmanned aerial vehicle systems in sup-

port of Marine Special Operations Command. HMH-464 also provided detatchments in support of the 24th Marine Expeditionary Unit and the Unit Deployment Program. With the change of command nearing its end, Robbins received the microphone for his farewell speech to the squadron and guests in attendance. “It has been both an honor and a privilege to be the commanding officer of this squadron,” said Robbins. “I have learned many things during my time here and although it is bitter-sweet to be leaving, I know that I am leaving the squadron in more than capable hands with Lt. Col. Borkowski.” Upon completion of his farewell speech, Robbins handed the microphone off to Borkowski along with a brotherly embrace as a sign of respect. “I am truly lucky to be the incoming commanding officer of such an outstanding squadron,” said Borkowski. “I look forward to being your commanding officer and getting to know everyone.”

POSITIVE FEEDBACK: Miriam Jones (at AS-4400) provided excellent fitness routines and exercises to help take me to the next level of fitness. Her help greatly affects my fitness level. NEGATIVE FEEDBACK: Monday morning Aqua Spin class has not had an instructor for the past two Mondays! There hasn’t been anything posted saying no instructor/no class. Get a new instructor! And when there is no instructor post something. We schedule our time to come do these workouts. Also clean the women’s showers! RESPONSE FROM RICHARD T. COLE AIR STATION SEMPER FIT DIRECTOR I apologize for the inconvenience of having to cancel classes due to the unexpected illness of the instructor. I have spoken to my Aquatics and Fitness staff to come up with a solution. Hopefully this will not occur again. With regards to the women’s showers, myself and my staff have personally inspected them on two occasions since receiving your comment. When we did they were clean. Locker rooms are cleaned at least three times a day around the peak use times. With that said, should you ever have a problem, please bring it to the team leader at the front desk or visit me in the office to the right when you come into the building, and we will see what can be done.
