BY MC2 (SW) ALYSIA R. HERNANDEZ NAS Oceana Public Affairs One hundred service members from local military installations woke up extra early Monday, Aug. 11 to catch a bus to Bon Secours Washington Redskins Training Center in Richmond,Va. The United Services Automobile Association (USAA) and the Washington Redskins invited service members from Naval Air Station (NAS) Oceana, Joint Base Langley and Fort Lee to an exclusive training camp experience. “USAA’s hosting of service members at today’s Washington Redskins training camp practice demonstrates USAA’s commitment to creating memorable military appreciation experiences through our status as the Official Military Appreciation Sponsor of the NFL and the Washington Redskins,” said Eliodoro Molina, a military affairs spokesman with USAA. “We understand what it means to serve so we wanted to bring service members out today and kind of give them a first-hand experience and give them that VIP treatment that they deserve,” Molina said. Upon arrival, the uniformed service members filed into the training center where they were greeted with applause from patrons at the Redskins team store. “Every time something like that happens, it’s such a humbling experience,” said Aviation Electrician’s Mate 2nd Class Kelly Rosetta from Strike Fighter Squadron (VFA) 143. “Although I don’t feel I deserve that much appreciation, I know it’s their way of expressing how much they appreciate what we do.
