Heartfelt proclamation to the V irgen de la Peñ a Dedicated to all mothers, especially those who have suffered the loss of a child. Such was the proclamation delivered on Sunday 16th by local resident Magdalena Godoy, who assured that “the Virgen de La Peña gave me back my heart and my life at a time when I believed there was only death, darkness and despair”, explaining that her connection to the Virgin stemmed from the death of her brother 23 years ago. At the same time, the mayoress, Ana Mata, and the parish priest of Mijas Pueblo, Hermán Marcel Lunar, unveiled the poster announcing the acts of worship in honour of the patron saint, a work by by Rafael Muñoz.
