On the evening of Tuesday 22nd of July, the mayoress of Mijas, Ana Mata, officially inaugurated the La Cala Fair with the switching on of the artistic lighting, accompanied by members of the local government team. The first day of the fair featured reduced prices on attractions for Children’s Day, the traditional dinner honouring the elderly, and a performance by Manuel Orta at the Municipal Booth, entertaining the crowd with sevillanas and rumbas. Wednesday 23rd, was dedicated to the election of the fair’s kings and queens, both adults and children’s categories, followed by a performance from the Sevillian duo El Tren de los Sueños. On Thursday, the spotlight was on Nacha Pop and the Tribute to Sanz concerts, marking the halfway point of the celebrations, with a full programme of activities planned throughout the coming days, both day and night.
