On the evening of Wednesday 25th of June, the mayoress of Mijas, Ana Mata, officially inaugurated the Las Lagunas Fair with the switching on of the artistic lights accompanied by members of the government team. On this first day, the rides were offered at a reduced price to mark Children’s Day, the king, queen and companions were chosen, and Marisol Bizcocho and Álvaro García provided musical entertainment at the Municipal Booth. On Thursday, the spotlight was on two events: the traditional tribute dinner for the elderly, which brought together 1,200 residents at the María Zambrano School, and the children’s party featuring the election of king and queen, as well as concerts by José Manuel Soto and the group Siempre Así.
