The Department of Family and Equal Opportunities of the Mijas Town Hall has prepared an extensive programme of activities to commemorate the 8th March, International Women’s Day, which was presented last Thursday 27th by the mayoress of Mijas and responsible for this area, Ana Mata. Workshops, book presentations, trips and an exhibition make up the calendar of this programme which will have as its main event the XVII Gala Mijas en Femenino, to be held at the Manuel España Theatre this Saturday 8th at 12 hours and which will acknowledge nine women from the municipality whose careers in different fields have a common link: their involvement in pursuit of equality and their contribution to the breaking down of social, cultural, sporting and business barriers, among others / Nuria Luque.
