The sierra is ready for reforestation The president of the Junta de Andalucía, Juanma Moreno Bonilla, visited the Sierra de Mijas on Friday 16th of August, where he announced that, after the fire that devastated this natural area in July 2022, the site is now ready for reforestation. Also during the event, the mayoress of the town, Ana Mata, reported that the municipality will invest more than 1.2 million euros in forestry work aimed at fire prevention, something that “the Mijas Town Hall had never done before”. This work, which will be carried out over a period of five years in the areas known as Sierra Blanca and Bermeja, will be implemented annually for eight months, from October to May. NEWS/05
