greeted by a lovable, tail wagging dog who’d love to give you kisses. “He’s a good boy,” says the person holding the leash. You soon find out, she’s right. That’s what patrons found recently at the Brick Library. The Jersey Shore Animal Shelter was on hand to talk about volunteering at their not-forprofit animal shelter. For the past 45 years, this shelter has been placing pets into their forever homes all while constantly taking in new, hopefully short-term residents. Along with a thrift shop aptly named the Bow Wow Boutique, the Jersey Shore Animal Shelter, located at 185 Brick Boulevard, is always looking for people to offer a helping hand. Laurie Fasinski, Executive Director of the shelter, is passionate about these animals. She wants to place all of them into loving homes but needs volunteers to help with everyday tasks. That’s where the library program comes in. “For members of the community that might not know who we are, even though we’ve been here a long time, the specific topic today is volunteering,” she said. The hour-long presentation was focused on what the shelter needs in way of people power. Most animal shelters only have a few members of staff who get paid for their time. They rely on donations, both in the form of money and time, to make ends meet. Jersey Shore Animal Shelter is no different, with volunteer hours last year totaling around 10,700. The shelter is looking for people to work in three different roles: dog walkers, cat socializers, and tour guides. During the presentation, Barbara Palmer held the (Animal Shelter - See Page 5)

School Performance, Promotion, And Donations Discussed

Warnet BRICK – The most recent Board of Education meeting saw several exciting items, the first being a report on the district’s performance, a new promotion, and a collection of donations from a dedicated PTA. The meeting started off with a presentation from Director of Curriculum Alyce Anderson, regarding the New
Jersey Department of Education performance report. This report was based in the 2024-2025 school year. Highlights from the report focused on increases in student enrollment, as well as increases in economically disadvantaged students and students with disabilities. Daniel Radcliffe Films New Movie At Jersey Shore

By Jason Allentoff SEASIDE PARK – Beachgoers might have done a double take after spotting “Harry Potter” star Daniel Radcliffe filming a new movie along the Jersey Shore. Radcliffe was in Seaside Park on July 30 shooting scenes for the upcoming espionage thriller “Trust the Man,” which also stars actor Jonathan Groff. Production crews transformed portions of the boardwalk and beachfront near the Charlroy Motel into a movie set. Filming also took place near The Sawmill and the Decatur Avenue beach area, according to Seaside Park police. Radcliffe posed for a photograph with local police officers who assisted with security, traffic and crowd
control during the production. “Overall, it was a great experience,” Seaside Park Police Sgt. Andrew Casole told Jersey Shore Online. “Mr. Radcliffe was very friendly and polite. He signed some autographs and took a few fan photos, and people were appreciative of his time.” Casole said Radcliffe’s security team kept the actor moving between filming locations and his trailer, limiting the amount of time he could spend with fans. “All the staff and film crew were great and worked hard,” Casole said. “There were lots of moving parts that all came together well.” The production was filmed in an area that remained (Daniel Radcliffe - See Page 6)
