K aja l L a l , 29, i s l i s t e d a s a b a n ke r for I nvestor s Ba n k on her LinkedIn. She won the primar y in June to represent her par ty in November. S h e s t e p p e d d ow n to take a job in the federal gover n ment and by law she can not run for office, according to a message sent to Democrats by local leader Jeff Horn. This message was then sent anonymously to The Toms River Times. “ I wo u ld l i ke t o t ha n k her for her work with us up until this point and congratulate her on obtaining a new job,” he said, noting that the vacancy will be

f illed soon. He encouraged people to get involved in local politics and make a difference. “T he other side wants to pit neighbor against neighbor qu ite liter ally a nd we a r e t h e ve s s e l in which to prevent them from obtaining victory,” he said. Hor n could not be reached by press time. According to county information, September 14 is the deadline to replace a primary nominee for the general election. T h e D e m o c r a t s’ slate is led by former Township Committeeman John Furey f o r m a y o r. T h e r e are three seats on the council up for grabs this year. Timeless Talent Portrayed At Senior Art Exhibit

By Stephanie Faughnan TOMS R I V E R – Ocean Count y government offices and the Toms River Ar t Community (TRAC) joined hands last month to curate the 2023 Ocean County Senior Ar t Exhibit, a remarkable event celebrating the artistic talents of local senior citizens. The exhibition represented a collaborative effor t bet ween T R AC , t h e O c e a n County Offices of Senior Services, and the Ocean County Tourism office. Every inch of space within the TRAC gallery showc a s e d wo r k s f r o m Ocean County artists over 60. As the doors opened, t he gal le r y bu z ze d with excitement, with both the artists and visitors stepping in to w it ness t he d isplay of breathtaking creations. The stand-
