The Dallas Stars are reaching back to the most celebrated moment in their franchise's nearly 60-year history with the unveiling of a new third uniform inspired by the design worn during their 1999 Stanley Cup Championship run.
The jersey is a modern, recoloured version of that Star-shaped alternate (later full-time) uniform introduced in the late 1990s, updated with a black base with white and silver striping and large green panels extending from the star points to the edges of the sweater. The look mirrors the original silhouette but swaps the metallic gold and forest green for the club's current colour scheme. The familiar state of Texas shoulder patches return in an updated form, stitched in white with a green-trimmed star at the centre.
