COURIER STRONGLY ENDORSES KAMALA HARRIS FOR PRESIDENT

THE NEW PITTSBURGH COURIER ENDORSES KAMALA HARRIS FOR PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES. ELECTION DAY IS TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 5, 2024. When Barack Obama went up against John McCain for the U.S. Presidency in the 2008 election following Republican George W. Bush's two-term bid, at least Obama's opponent had some dignity, some respect about himself. John McCain was a war

hero, who survived being a prisoner of war in Vietnam; a longtime senator from Arizona who had many supporters and admirers. Still, African Americans across the country went to the polls and overwhelmingly voted for Obama,

COURIER EDITORIAL making him the first Black U.S. President in history. Fast forward to now. Another Black person, this time, a woman, Kamala

Harris, who is the vice president, is running for the presidency against a man who, unlike McCain, has no decorated past or present, seemingly no re-

spect for women, will talk trash on someone in a hot second, and wants to create policies that would disproportionately hurt Black people and other minorities. You would think that there's no way Kamala Harris could lose, right?

Political strategist Donna Brazile backs Harris during Pittsburgh visit, Oct. 26 Kamala has proven she 'can lead us all,' Brazile says by Rob Taylor Jr. Courier Staff Writer

Outspoken political strategist Donna Brazile, just 10 days before Election Day, was the keynote speaker for the second annual Wellness Symposium for Black Women, sponsored by The Pittsburgh Chapter of the Links Inc., and The Links Foundation. The non-partisan event also featured a number of experts who spoke on physical, mental, financial and civic wellness. "Ten days out, how many of y'all are counting the days?" Brazile asked the assembled crowd at CCAC, Saturday, Oct. 26. "How many of you are committed over the next 10 days

to use your voice and your visibility to ensure that more people turn in their ballot?" Brazile is a staunch Democrat, most known for leading Democratic presidential candidate Al Gore's campaign in 2000, in which he won the popular vote. She's a frequent contributor on ABC News' "This Week," which airs Sunday mornings, and a former contributor to CNN. She has thrown her full support behind Kamala Harris to defeat Donald Trump in the presidential election, Nov. 5, of which she made clear weeks before the event at CCAC. SEE BRAZILE A5
