site is a triangle. Placing a bus stop at the NE corner allowed for interaction with major traffic arteries. The positioning of a fenced-in park allows for outdoor social space. A grocery dominates the ground level, with ADA street parking nearest the door. The community previously lacked a place to buy fresh fruit and vegetables. The neighborhood’s existing green spaces did not invite child play/social interaction. The site is visible from N. 7th Street headed into downtown, and will act as a “welcome sign” for the overall community.
