Celebrating

THE LIFE & LEGACY OF ROBERT J. MILLER ORDER OF

Robert Miller was born in Chicago, IL on December 5, 1965. Rob’s presences always filled every room he entered and he is known his artwork and signature of a moon with the bird flying in the sky . Rob graduated from Sherman School, and quickly became the a standout student at Tilden High School. After graduating from Tilden, Rob enrolled in the Navy and committed his life to military service. While in the Navy Rob received several ribbons, rewards and acknowledgements. Rob continued his education by obtaining an Associate’s Degree in Business Administration, a Bacehlor’s Degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Business Management then just last year, in 2025, he obtained his Master’s Degree in Health Administration from the University of Phoneix. On 12/31/2025, Rob retired from the Lovell Federal Health Care Center - VA

The loss we feel today is deep and profound, yet the story of Rob’s life does not end here. It continues in the countless lives he touched, in the values he demonstrated, and in the love he gave so freely. Rob’s journey was marked by compassion, resilience, and strength. Rob faced life’s challenges with grace and met its joys with a grateful heart. Rob’s legacy is not measured only in accomplishments, but in moments caring for others, the laughter and joy he brought in every room, and the encouragement he gave when it was needed most. Rob had a remarkable way of making people feel seen, heard, and valued. Those who knew Rob will remember him not only for what he did, but for who he was genuine, caring, fun, and full of heart. Though we grieve his absence, we honor him by carrying forward the kindness he showed, the love he modeled, and the integrity he lived by.

Rob leaves behind his son, Robert Miler, Jr, his mother Bernadette Washington, his brothers Charles Miller and Santana Miller, his sisters Annette Miler, Michelle J. Miller, Joanne Miller, Stephanie Knighten and more. Rob will be deeply missed by his dear friend Helen Weston, who stood by him for many years. He is also survived by his loving companion, Stephanie Smith, who brought immense care and concern in his life. Rob was preceded in death by his father, Harry Miller and his brother, Andre Byrd, whom we take comfort in knowing welcomed him in heaven with open arms. Rob’s memory will continue to inspire strength in times of difficulty and gratitude in moments of joy. Rob will always be remembered with deep love, honor and respect.
