We fell in love with this Colt the minute we brought him out of his box at the sales complex. A son of Australia’s most prolific sire producing stallion, Snitzel out of a mare by the leading French sire Siyouni. Snitzel has produced the likes of now sires and superstar racehorses, Shamus Award, Trapeze Artist, Shinzo and Russian Revolution to name a few. He has already shown that much ability in his fast work that we have paid up for nominations to all of Australia’s feature two-year-old contests. A supreme type with the class under saddle to match.
For those unfamiliar with the efforts of Palace Pier, he was crowned Champion three-year-old in Europe and then as a four-year-old was deemed the World’s Highest Rated Miler while winning a second Champion Racehorse title, in becoming Champion Older Miler. He shuttled to Australia last year so we were eager to get involved in his offspring, which is proving to be a shrewd choice as in just his first crop of two-year-olds in Europe, he has already produced an unrivalled three stakes winners.
Two years ago we saw a striking brown Tassort Filly at the yearling sales who ended up becoming stakes place-getter and SA 2yo Magic Millions runner up Ad Astra, and the moment we saw this Filly, we had flashbacks. From the same stud in Kingstar Farm who continue to be prolific stakes winning breeders, we couldn’t be more thrilled to have purchased this girl. Tassort already made his mark on Australian breeding in just his first season, he produced the Group 1 winner Manaal among 10 other individual winners and $2M in progeny earnings.
Japan has a reputation for breeding the world’s most supreme racehorses and we were able to tap into those bloodlines when purchasing this son of superstar racehorse Maurice. A phenomenal type with a beautiful athletic walk to match, which is no surprise with this Colt being out of a mare by one of the world’s greatest ever sires in Deep Impact. Maurice in his own right has been sensational at stud in Australia producing the likes of Hitotsu among his 5 other G1 winners and when bred with Deep Impact mares, has already produced 5 stakes winners from limited runners.
The Autumn Sun has only been at stud for a short amount of time, but his impact has been immense, leading Arrowfield to deem him the stud’s flag bearer, following on from Redoute’s Choice and Snitzel. This Colt is a tremendous athletic type and represents great value at his price tag. By a broodmare who was stakes placed in Adelaide as a 3-year-old, there is black type all through his page. He looks to be the perfect classic staying type and The Autumn Sun is on an all time high following the success of his exciting Caulfield Guineas winner, Autumn Boy.
Wild Ruler looks to be an extremely exciting stallion in the making with his first crop of runners already showing huge ability at the first sets to two-year-old trials. They look to be ready made running types and this boy is no exception. He is strong bodied, a great mover and is out of a stakes performed broodmare who is already a black type producer, highlighted by this gelding’s half brother Fistsoffury who’s earned over $350k in prize money. He will be given every chance to get to the races and succeed as a juvenile.
