To ensure the best experience for every child, our camps are organized by age
MAHOGANYCLASSICCAMPS
Most MHOA-run classic camps are divided into two age groups:
5–7 years
8–12 years

KidSport Calgary and Canadian Tire Jumpstart each offer subsidies/grants for youth towards sport and recreation programs. Please contact them for funding information.

These age groups run as separate sections and are not combined, meaning siblings in different age ranges will be placed in different groups.
Specialty camps and third-party run camps may have different age ranges depending on the activity and provider. Please review each individual camp description carefully to confirm the specific age group before registering
NOTE

Safe water is a core part of every MHOA-run summer camp experience. With Mahogany Lake at the heart of our community, teaching children how to enjoy the water responsibly is just as important as fun, creativity, and adventure.
Throughout the summer, campers in both regular and specialty camps (excluding third-party or contractor-run programs) will automatically participate in daily training activities.
(Note: This training is excluded from third-party or contractor-run programs)

Open-Water Swim to Survive®
Led by certified instructors from the Lifesaving Society, campers will learn the necessary skills needed to survive an unexpected fall into deep water:
ROLL: Roll into deep water to simulate a fall and orient to the surface.
TREAD: Tread water for one minute to support themself and locate nearest point of safety
SWIM: Swim 50 metres and return to safety.
This open-water program focuses on foundational skills that help children stay safe around lakes and outdoor swimming environments, including: open-water awareness, safe entry and exit techniques, treading water, floating for self-rescue, safe swimming practices.
As the weather permits, swimming activities are planned to take place daily so campers can regularly practice and reinforce these important skills.
While working directly with the Lifesaving Society, campers are closely supervised by certified instructors during all training activities. When not in formal instruction:
Children under 8 years must wear a lifejacket. Children ages 8 to 12 years must wear a lifejacket unless a waiver has been signed by a parent or guardian. Campers remain in designated shallow areas.
Every camper stays of a camp leader at all times.
Within Arm’s Reach
Our trained and dedicated camp leaders follow strict supervision ratios and protocols to ensure every child feels supported, confident, and secure while enjoying lake activities this summer.

Our summer camp is more than childcare; it's a gateway to unforgettable experiences and learning for your child Through a variety of crafts, games, and activities, we aim to broaden horizons and nurture social, physical, cognitive, and emotional growth
