A NEW CHAPTER BEGINS:
COMO METROPOLITAN BANGKOK COMO Hotels and Resorts is proud to announce the full reopening of COMO Metropolitan Bangkok, marking an exciting new chapter in the hotel’s 22-year evolution, and a vibrant new lure to the Central Business District at the heart of the Thai capital.
As part of the brand’s commitment to contemporary urban living, the hotel’s design — including all studio and metropolitan rooms — has been reimagined by Italian designer Paola Navone. This Bangkok opening becomes Navone’s second project in Thailand for COMO Hotels and Resorts, and a perfect pairing with our island hotel, COMO Point Yamu, on the southern Thai island of Phuket.
THE ART OF LUXURY

Navone’s trademark is a modern sense of place without cultural pastiche. This is achieved through sensitively balancing local materials (wood, ceramic, and stone), and a confident, playful contemporaneity
using form and colour, including oversized woven seat-backs and splashes of Buddhist orange. Textures, including marble, are simple, satisfying and luxurious, and come alive in the play of light and

shadow. The lobby counter — clad in textured stone with subtle reliefs — draws inspiration from Thai masonry and temple walls, whilst an overhead patterned bamboo wall recalls traditional Thai screens filtering the tropical skies.
“With our urban properties, I’ve always wanted to create hotels with spirit which are dynamic and design-forward,” says COMO Hotels and Resorts’ founder, Christina Ong, who opened her first Metropolitan hotel in London in 1997; “But they also need to be elegant and exceptionally comfortable — places where our guests can retreat from the city to enjoy a pared-back, almost meditative simplicity.” This balance — between lively city living, and the serene escapism travellers seek with busy schedules — is also manifested in the hotel’s key offerings, including dining and wellness. Awarded an eighth consecutive one-Michelin star in the Michelin Guide 2025, nahm on the ground floor of COMO Metropolitan Bangkok, led by Chef Pim Techamuanvivit, offers a refined take on regional Thai cuisine. Reservations are essential for this spectacular journey in the sweet, salty, hot and sour contradictions of one of Asia’s most complex cuisines. But sometimes, guests want something a little easier — a familiar comfort food, or a light, healthy option after a late-night arrival. With this in mind, COMO Cuisine makes its Thai debut at the new COMO Metropolitan Bangkok with a new restaurant on the second floor and a substantial all-day dining menu. Developed by Australian chef Daniel Moran, COMO’s Culinary Vice President, alongside COMO Group Executive Chef, Amanda Gale, menus feature salads, soups, meats and fish dishes, ‘kitchen’ classics, sharing dishes, and kids’ favourites. The restaurant also features a wide selection from COMO Shambhala Kitchen — a healthy living concept with an emphasis on whole foods.

Dishes are low in sugar, salt and free of artificial additives. The energising juices are thoughtfully crafted in collaboration with COMO’s expert nutritionist to nourish both body and mind. While the Navone-designed lobby and the hotel’s 25m-long outdoor pool invite conviviality, guests can also retreat completely for yoga and restorative treatments at the hotel’s iconic COMO Shambhala wellness centre featuring 10 treatment rooms, a yoga studio, gym and hydro pool. This redesign will attract guests who want some peace and quiet in the city centre, but that’s not to say it’s a hotel where you are cut off from the culture. The hotel’s new Iconic Experiences, designed to immerse guests in the culture and creativity of Bangkok, will include a private shopping experience in collaboration with Club 21 — another of Christina Ong’s companies, featuring different stores across the city specialising in highly edited collections of men’s and womenswear. Oenophiles will also have access via new Iconic Experience to the Monsoon Valley Siam Winery — a bold new departure for viticulture just outside Bangkok. This immersive journey will help diners make sense of the terroir, and the wine pairings recently introduced to the hotel’s Thai restaurant. The reopening of COMO Metropolitan Bangkok, with is elegantly appointed 137 rooms and suites, is an important moment as part of a bigger journey for the brand. “We now have five urban hotels, with two in London, and one in Perth, Singapore and Bangkok. They all share a careful balance of public style and private calm,” says Olivier Jolivet, CEO of COMO.

LUXURY TRAVEL
ELIT’AVIA: A QUIET FORCE REDEFINING THE ART OF PRIVATE AVIATION Founded in 2006 by Michel Coulomb with a clear yet ambitious vision, Elit’Avia began life as a boutique operator in Central Europe. The aim was never scale for scale’s sake. Instead, Coulomb set out to create something far more exacting: a business aviation house where operational rigour would meet true personal care. “We are not simply managing aircraft,” he once remarked. “We are shaping experiences.” That philosophy still echoes through every layer of the company’s operations today. From its headquarters in Malta, relocated strategically in 2012, Elit’Avia now operates as a discreet global player whose influence belies its size. With operations in Malta and San Marino, the company has established a strong European foundation while serving a truly international clientele. Malta, with its strong regulatory framework, political stability and exceptional connectivity, became the ideal crossroads for a firm with an international outlook. The move represented both consolidation and elevation: one strong centre, one consistent standard, and one cohesive culture.
There are companies that grow loudly, and then there are those that expand with intention, measured, deliberate, and unmistakably confident. Elit’Avia belongs firmly to the latter category.
Over the past two decades, the privately held aviation firm has built its reputation not through spectacle, but through precision: a philosophy of restraint paired with excellence, where safety, service and sustainability converge in rare balance.
LUXURY TRAVEL
It is within this framework that Elit’Avia’s latest chapter continues to unfold in Dubai. The opening of the company’s Middle East branch marks more than a geographical expansion; it signals a deepened commitment to a region that is rapidly redefining the future of private aviation. Dubai, a nexus of global mobility and modern ambition, is a natural home for Elit’Avia’s next evolution. With a physical presence on the ground, the firm brings its signature service closer to a demanding and discerning clientele, offering aircraft owners and charter customers direct access to a team that understands not only aviation, but expectation. For Elit’Avia, responsiveness is not a slogan but an operational doctrine. Every owner, every itinerary, every flight is treated as individual. From Part NCC and FAA Part 91 private operations to full aircraft management and advisory services, the company provides an ecosystem in which ownership becomes seamless and flying is returned to what it should always be, all confidence and no complication. At the heart of this system lies a founder who understands, perhaps better than most, the gravity of the profession. Trained across aircraft types and once a test pilot himself, Michel Coulomb made a conscious choice to step back from the cockpit when Elit’Avia grew, not out of distance, but out of respect.
29
“Leading an aviation company,” he says, “demands the same devotion as piloting a jet, you cannot divide your attention between the two.” That clarity defines Elit’Avia’s internal ethic: each role is specialised, honoured, and executed without compromise. Yet beyond process lies something rarer: culture. Elit’Avia describes itself as a family business not as a label, but as a mindset. Alongside Michel, his wife Olga oversees operational and financial structure, while Michel’s son Gregory, an active pilot, brings modern perspective to sales and growth. Around them is a leadership team of respected industry figures and a deeply international staff whose loyalty is reflected in client tenure measured not in contracts, but in years. If Elit’Avia excels in discretion, it is vocal only on one matter: responsibility. Sustainability, here, is not a marketing phrase but a long-term strategy. From flight optimisation technology that reduces emissions to verified carbon offset programmes and investment in hybrid electric aircraft development, the firm regards innovation as an obligation. Even its headquarters reflect this commitment, set within a Net Zero building where sustainable architecture meets executive design. To Elit’Avia, environmental consciousness is not optional, it is elemental.
And the horizon continues to widen. Digital transformation, ultra long range fleet expansion, deeper roots in Asia and the Middle East, and new partnerships are already taking form behind the scenes. But ambition at Elit’Avia is never hurried. It is methodical. Purposeful. Elegant. In an industry that too often confuses luxury with excess, Elit’Avia offers something rarer: refinement through restraint. A company that does not shout, but assures. Does not advertise, but delivers. And in doing so, quietly redefines what private aviation can, and should, become.

REVIEW: A COSY, RESTORATIVE ESCAPE AT EASTWELL MANOR Our recent stay at Eastwell Manor was nothing short of wonderful—a retreat that delivered the exact balance of cosiness, tranquillity, and indulgence that we were hoping for.
From the moment we approached the sweeping grounds to the moment we reluctantly packed our bags, the experience carried a sense of calm and comfort that is increasingly rare to find. What stood out most was not just the aesthetic beauty of the estate, but the atmosphere the team has managed to cultivate: warm, welcoming, and deeply relaxing. We arrived in the afternoon and were immediately taken by the setting. Eastwell Manor’s grounds are stunning—expansive lawns, mature trees, and a historic manor house that seems to carry centuries of stories in its architecture. It’s the kind of place where simply walking from the car to the entrance feels like a gentle step back in time. Inside, that sense of tranquillity continues. The interiors are elegant without being pretentious, and the ambience is unmistakably cosy,

with soft lighting, traditional details, and spaces that invite you to settle in and breathe a little deeper. One of the highlights of our stay was the afternoon tea. It perfectly matched the traditional, snug character of the venue. Presented beautifully, the tea felt indulgent without being overly formal. The selection of sandwiches, pastries, and scones was thoughtfully put together, and everything tasted fresh and homemade. What truly elevated the experience, though, was the setting—comfortable chairs, soft decor, and the gentle hum of a quiet room where people seemed to naturally unwind. It was the kind of afternoon tea that encourages you to linger rather than rush. Dinner that evening was equally memorable. We were particularly impressed by how accommodating the kitchen was regarding our
dietary requirements. Rather than making the adaptations feel like an inconvenience or an afterthought, the staff handled everything with ease, reassurance, and genuine care. This level of attentiveness made the meal feel personal and thoughtfully tailored.

To start, I ordered the scallops, which turned out to be one of the highlights of the entire visit. Cooked perfectly, they were tender and full of rich flavour, beautifully balanced and plated. My main course—the steak—was cooked with the same precision. It arrived exactly as ordered, with a great sear on the outside and a tender, flavourful centre. Dining in a setting as elegant and serene as Eastwell Manor’s dining room only made the experience more enjoyable. The pace of service was relaxed but attentive, allowing us to savour each course without feeling rushed.
room was in a prime location within the manor house, and from the moment we entered, we appreciated how generous the layout was: plenty of space around the bed and sitting area, giving us room to settle in, unpack, and truly relax. The bed was extremely and everything inside — from the plush towels, robes and slippers to the luxury toiletries — felt carefully chosen and high quality.

One of the things I loved most was the view: many Manor Luxe Rooms offer breathtaking views over the elegantly landscaped gardens, and waking up to that serene greenery was a wonderful reminder of why we came. excellent—the therapists were skilled, friendly, and intuitive, knowing when to engage and when to let us drift into peaceful silence.
After the treatment, we spent the afternoon unwinding in the spa facilities, which provided the kind of restorative environment that encourages you to switch off completely. Whether sitting quietly in the relaxation areas or simply taking in the peacefulness around us, it was exactly the reset we hoped for. The spa experience, much like the rest of the stay, wasn’t just a service—it was an atmosphere, a feeling, a rhythm that encourages you to slow down. One of the most memorable aspects of Eastwell Manor was the staff. Throughout our stay, every interaction was warm and genuine. They were consistently helpful, patient, and proactive, especially when it came to adapting services to meet our needs. It never felt

As we explored the grounds again before leaving, it struck me how cohesive the entire experience had been. Everything—from the setting and the food to the spa and the hospitality—worked together to create a sense of escape. Not an escape that is flashy or overly curated, but one that is soothing, charming, and deeply cosy. Eastwell Manor is spectacular, yes, but it’s spectacular in a way that feels welcoming rather than overwhelming. In a world where so many hotels focus on extremes— ultra-modern minimalism or opulent grandiosity— Eastwell Manor stands out by offering something far more valuable: warmth, comfort, and a restorative environment wrapped in beautiful, historic surroundings. It is a place where you can genuinely relax, where small details are noticed, and where cosiness is treated as a luxury in its own right.

We left feeling refreshed, cared for, and eager to return. Eastwell Manor is not just a beautiful venue; it is a sanctuary of relaxation, and it absolutely delivered the cosy, calming experience we hoped for.

THE ART OF TIME:
WHY SERVICING YOUR WATCH MATTERS
meticulously cleaned and inspected. Worn or damaged parts are replaced, the movement lubricated, and precision adjustments made. The result is a watch that not only keeps perfect time but performs exactly as it was designed to. Transparency is key. “If we discover additional work is needed, we communicate immediately,” Jimmy notes. “There are no surprises. Customers can trust that their watch is in expert hands.”
For many, a watch is more than a tool, it is a statement, a milestone, a companion that quietly measures life’s defining moments.
Behind every finely crafted timepiece is a world of precision and skill, and at Baker Brothers, it is Jimmy, their in-house Watchmaker, who ensures each watch continues to perform at its peak.
“A high-quality timepiece is a precision instrument, designed to perform flawlessly year after year,” Jimmy says. “Inside every watch are hundreds of components working constantly. Over time, natural wear
and the ageing of lubricants can affect performance, which is why routine servicing maintains the accuracy of your watch.” Jimmy brings years of specialised training and hands-on experience to every service, repair, and adjustment. “When a customer brings in their watch, we start with a thorough assessment and discussion,” he explains. “We make sure they fully understand the process, the costs, and the timelines before any work begins. It’s always a privilege to be trusted with someone’s timepiece.” The servicing process itself is painstaking. Each watch is carefully disassembled, every component
But servicing is not just about mechanics, it’s about legacy. “A watch often carries memories, milestones, and achievements,” Jimmy says. “Caring for it ensures those moments are preserved. It becomes a timepiece that can be cherished and passed down through generations.” For those who value craftsmanship, performance, and history, servicing a watch is more than maintenance, it is stewardship. As Jimmy puts it, “Helping our customers look after their watches is a privilege. Every service is a chance to keep a timepiece running beautifully and to protect the moments it represents for years to come.” In the world of luxury watches, time is both the measure and the reward. And with the right care, your watch will continue to keep pace with your life, faithfully and flawlessly.

TAG HEUER CAPTURES THE GLOW OF RACING AFTER DARK THROUGH A BOLD EXPRESSION OF ITS ICON WITH THE TAG HEUER MONACO CHRONOGRAPH, CHANNELING THE ADRENALINE OF FORMULA1® NIGHT CIRCUITS Swiss luxury watchmaker TAG Heuer unveils a striking interpretation of one of its most iconic timepieces with the new TAG Heuer Monaco Chronograph.
Bold and vibrant, this limited edition takes the TAG Heuer Monaco into a new realm, lit in electric hues and driven by the fast pulse of racing after dark. This is the TAG Heuer Monaco Chronograph through a contemporary lens - audacious in style, precise in performance, and alive with the energy of Formula 1®.
THE MAKING OF A LEGEND Introduced in 1969, the TAG Heuer Monaco broke traditional watchmaking codes and became one of the most emblematic watches in history. Back then, its bold, square shape, left crown and signature blue dial were unlike anything else on the market. Now synonymous with the brand, it has also become an industry favorite, amassing a following among racing enthusiasts and watch lovers alike. The TAG Heuer Monaco’s heritage has continuously been linked to motor racing and the history of cinema, notably through its association withactor Steve McQueen. In the film “Le Mans” of 1971, McQueen’s character sported a Monaco, cementing its status as an icon of style and a cornerstone of motor racing culture. Beyond its cinematic fame, the TAG Heuer Monaco has continually

evolved with each iteration building upon the last, refining the precision and distinctive design that define this iconic model. From its early days measuring the pulsating thrill of motorsport to its modern incarnations, the TAG Heuer Monaco has been a beacon of innovative design, continually adapting with new technologies and materials while remaining true to its racing legacy. That pioneering spirit continues in this latest chapter, a highimpact redefinition inspired by the spectacle of night races and the dazzling vibrancy of cities that never sleep.
WHEN THE SUN GOES DOWN, THE RACE BEGINS The TAG Heuer Monaco Chronograph captures the unique atmosphere of racing after dark - where performance becomes theatre and speed roars through neon-lit streets. The design draws from the world of Formula 1® night races, where every lap is framed by high-speed motion and sharp contrasts. With this new limited edition, the TAG Heuer Monaco leans into its role as a symbol of those who defy convention. Its visual language is heightened by dramatic colors, architectural depth, and striking finishing.
The 39mm case is crafted in black DLC-coated titanium, making it both lightweight and resilient. At the center, a skeletonized dial reveals the inner mechanics while transitioning through a vivid gradient from violet to deep blue, echoing the descent from twilight into full night and capturing the mood of the city as it shifts into race mode. Revealing its true personality in the dark, the timepiece shines bright thanks to its various SuperLumiNova® accents. Blue highlights the chronograph complication and its turquoise hands. Green Super-LumiNova® refers to time reading with the black-gold hour
and minute hands. A green SLN date revealer complements the open-worked date disc, ensuring optimal visibility in low light. The skeletonized arches shine from within, with purple SuperLumiNova® within the minute track and blue SLN on the outer edge, creating a layered luminous effect with three distinct nighttime tones. On the caseback, the sapphire crystal is finished with an iridescent metallization, ranging from blue to purple and extending the dial’s color palette. It creates a seamless chromatic experience that subtly shifts with light, reinforcing the connection between design and motion.

Powering the timepiece is the inhouse automatic Calibre TH20-00, designed for accuracy and longlasting performance. The movement and its inner workings are visible through both the skeletonized dial and a sapphire caseback, giving enthusiasts a clear view of the engineering at play. Completing the piece is a strap combining black rubber and embossed calfskin, accented by purple stitching that ties into the color story of the dial.

THE ANDY WARHOL WATCH ‘COLLAGE’ LIMITED EDITION formally named the contemporary expression of his watch the Andy Warhol Watch. Today, the Maison and the US-based foundation intensify their relationship with a capsule watch that transmits Andy Warhol’s singular creativity into the future – and onto the wrist.
After unveiling their partnership last November and giving the name back to this iconic watch, Piaget and the Foundation Andy Warhol unveil a limited edition of 50 pieces, inspired by the “Collage” artwork of the artist. Through more than 150 years, Piaget has introduced numerous watch and jewellery collections inspired by the creative arts. As a result, its designs have consistently attracted a discerning clientele from the art world, marrying the delicate and often intangible beauty of the artistic crafts with the brilliance of precision watchmaking. One such

client was the visual artist Andy Warhol, a leading light of the hugely influential Pop Art movement of the 1950s and 1960s. Warhol, an avid collector of both trivial and exquisite objects, purchased seven Piaget watches in his lifetime, none more recognizable than the iconic cushion-shaped piece he acquired in 1973, previously named the 15102 watch.
POP GOES THE WATCH In 2024, Piaget entered into a relationship with the Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts and
As with many things, Andy Warhol was compulsively buying watches. By the time of his death in 1987, he had amassed a collection of more than 300 watches, including seven by Piaget. These were auctioned by Sotheby’s in New York a year later, and of those, four were purchased by Piaget and returned to its private collection in Switzerland. Among them was a black and gold example of the iconic reference 15102, a 45mm watch imagined by Piaget’s creative director Jean-Claude Gueit and produced in limited series between 1972 and 1977. That design, later known as the Black Tie, was reimagined for Piaget’s 140th anniversary in 2014. Parallels were drawn between the watch and Andy Warhol at the time, but it was only in the autumn of 2024 that the association was officially recognized when the Swiss Maison and the Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts entered into partnership for the first time. Now, a year on, a watch that captures and interprets Warhol’s work. The Andy Warhol Watch ‘Collage’ Limited Edition features a dial decorated with a marqueterie of colourful ornamental gemstones arranged into an abstract form that echoes one of Warhol’s most celebrated polaroid collage self-portraits, taken in 1986. The watch’s stepped 45mm case is cast in 18-carat yellow gold, a metal chosen in homage to Warhol’s 1973 own watch, and that is otherwise unavailable in the contemporary Andy Warhol Watch collection. Only 50 examples will be made.

works and iterate on a banana, a can of soup, or perhaps Marilyn Monroe? We quickly learned that we wanted to express Warhol, but without being obvious. To suggest, rather than to show. For their part, the foundation encouraged us to approach the project with freedom and to interpret Warhol in Piaget’s expressive, unbounded style. The result is a watch that tells the story of our collaboration but that stands on its own as a piece of watchmaking art, a collectible inspired by one of history’s most prolific collectors.”
THE COLOURFUL APPROACH A WORK OF ART, A LABOUR OF LOVE Andy Warhol is quoted as saying that ‘Art is what you can get away with’, a reference to the media theorist Marshall McLuhan. Yet when Piaget came to collaborating with the Andy Warhol Foundation, no such chances were taken. Instead, the Maison’s artistic director Stéphanie Sivrière and her team immersed themselves in Andy Warhol’s work and in the collaboration, travelling to New York to view archives opened up by the foundation, visiting exhibitions and devouring countless books dedicated to the pop artist’s vast catalogue.
The two parties agreed that in this first year of the partnership, the focus should fall on colour, a feature of Warhol’s portfolio, which often drew down on the bright, eye-catching tropes of commercial artwork developed for marketing and advertising purposes. “We spent six months researching Andy Warhol before we settled on a direction,” says Stéphanie Sivrière. “With such a wealth of material to draw on, it was extremely difficult to know where to begin. Should we look to one of his most famous
The dial motif of the Andy Warhol Watch ‘Collage’ Limited Edition comes from the careful application of four ornemental stones, shaped, cut and arranged using the ancient Métier d’Art of marquetry. The base is in black onyx, same colour as per Andy Warhol’s own watch of 1973. Complementing this are thin slices of ornamental stones: yellow Namibian serpentine, pink opal and green chrysoprase. These are surrounded by a stepped 45mm case crafted from 18-carat yellow gold and set on a green leather strap, a rich, mature colour chosen to add to the palette without distracting from the dial. The Andy Warhol Watch ‘Collage’ Limited Edition’s 18-carat yellow gold case back has a vertical satinfinish. Inside the watch, Piaget has installed its in-house 501P1 self-winding mechanical calibre, a slimline power unit with a 40hour power reserve decorated with circular Côtes de Genève stripes. This is overlaid with an engraved rendition of the Andy Warhol selfportrait on which the dial design is based, carrying Piaget’s logo and Andy Warhol’s signature. Truly collectible.

TRIPLEX PENTHOUSE WITH PRIVATE ROOF TERRACE AT BATTERSEA POWER STATION, THE GLOBAL DESIGN ICON AND LONDON’S MOST STYLISH NEW NEIGHBOURHOOD
In Switch House West in iconic Grade II* Listed Battersea Power Station, Prime Central London’s most stylish and vibrant new neighbourhood, a 1,343 sq.ft. triplex penthouse with two bedrooms, an open-plan reception/kitchen, two private outdoor spaces including a 634 sq.ft. roof terrace, plus use of exclusive residents’ amenities such as 24-hour concierge, state-of-the-art leisure facilities, rooftop gardens, sunset bar and screening rooms, is for sale with Beauchamp Estates.
On the South Bank of the Thames, a short walk from Battersea Power Station Underground station, the light-filled penthouse is set over the seventh and eighth floors of Switch House West: the voluminous main living spaces are arranged on the

lower floor, with soaring ceiling heights reaching 2.73m (8.96ft), and the two bedrooms, one of which is a principal bedroom suite, plus second bathroom, on the upper level.
The immaculately presented penthouse forms part of the award-winning redevelopment of Battersea Power Station, which at its peak generated a fifth of London’s electricity, into a worldclass property, lifestyle, dining and leisure destination. The home lies on the enviable west side of Switch House West, a landmark building that formed part of ‘Battersea A’, originally designed by architect Sir Giles Gilbert Scott and completed in 1933, and which once housed the station’s main switch gear, laboratory, battery and assembly rooms.

The principal suite is a true urban sanctuary, the bedroom painted in a deep inky green, spotlit by LEDs and with floor-to-ceiling glazing, bespoke built-in wardrobes and an ensuite bathroom with freestanding elliptical bathtub. Also indulgently spacious, the second bedroom has floor-to-ceiling glazing and capacious built-in wardrobes. A separate shower room completes the eighth floor. An internal staircase leads to the spectacular 634 sq.ft. roof terrace, spanning the entire width of the apartment. With elevated views across the riverside development and to Battersea Power Station’s In 2021, under lead architect WilkinsonEyre, it became the first section of the building to be completed as a stylish new residential address of just 98 apartments, utilising the existing historic structure with the addition of three new glazed floors to the top, of which the penthouse is part. With an interiors scheme by Michaelis Boyd, inspired by 1930s and 1950s design motifs, exposed brick and steelwork create an industrial warehouse aesthetic. Crittall-style internal screens and doors allow light to filter in, with light-toned wooden herringbone flooring underfoot and kitchen tiling echoing the brick, with flashes of copper accents. The lower floor of the penthouse is dedicated to the showstopping 30ft 1in by 16ft 8in open-plan reception and kitchen space, with 2.73m (8.96ft) ceiling heights and floor-to-ceiling aluminium-framed windows. The streamlined kitchen features minimalist white cabinetry, with a breakfast bar easily able to seat four, and access to a spacious terrace. A guest WC is also found at this level. The bedroom accommodation on the eighth floor is contemporary, yet opulent, showcasing again an elegant industrial aesthetic that makes no compromises on comfort.

four iconic white Art Deco-style chimneys, now beautifully restored, it’s a matchless location for relaxing, alfresco dining and hosting soirées. Residents of Switch House West also have access to two internal private landscaped courtyards as well as a communal garden on top of ‘Turbine Hall A’, which now houses part of the development’s extraordinary new retail experience. Landscaping by Andy Sturgeon Design includes year-round colour and structure, seas of ornamental grasses, perennials, shrubs and bulbs, with hidden seating areas and views to Westminster Cathedral. Other exceptional lifestyle offerings that the penthouse enjoys are 24hour concierge services, use of a state-of-the-art gym, 21m (68.8ft) pool, private residents’ lounges and workspaces, screening rooms and a sunset bar. Some of London’s most exciting new retail and dining experiences are also right on the doorstep, offering an A-Z of high-end fashion, homewares, beauty outlets and eateries, both in the new shopping centre within Battersea Power Station, and the adjacent pedestrianised high street, Electric Boulevard. The penthouse’s new owner will be part of one of Europe’s most exciting and ambitious regeneration schemes, still only partly way through its 25-year, seven-phase masterplan. Having supplied electricity to some of London’s most famous landmarks, including the Houses of Parliament and Buckingham Palace, since 1933, Battersea Power Station closed in 1983, becoming a global cultural icon, a sought-after backdrop to many films, music videos, fashion shows and album artworks. Today Battersea Power Station lies at the heart of a 42-acre site that includes eight acres of public space and a six-acre riverside park. ARIA, THE MELODY OF NATURE Aria Collection is born from the invisible rhythms of nature, capturing forces that cannot be held but can always be felt.
Like a melody rising and falling, this collection moves with the quiet strength of wind bending leaves, like the laughter of rivers over ancient stones, the sway of wildflowers in sunlight, and the distant song of the sea. Aria captures these fleeting voices and gives them form.
“With Aria Collection, I wanted to capture that invisible rhythm, the feeling of standing in a field and hearing the world breathe with you,” says designer Daniela Ferreira. Porcelain, introduced for the first time by Serip, brings a delicate strength and elegant smoothness, echoing the soft flow of an aria. It merges with bronze, bold and textured, grounding the composition with rhythm and depth. Glass completes the harmony with its translucent lightness, shimmering like fleeting high notes that linger in the air.
THE ART OF LUXURY
ISSUE 74 2026
Together, these materials blend into a harmony of contrasts, fragile yet powerful, precise yet smooth. Distinct voices merge into a single chorus, flowing like music through space. What makes Aria truly alive is its modularity, which mirrors the structure of music itself. A single piece may exist as a quiet solo, intimate and delicate, or combine with others to form compositions that unfold like sweeping crescendos. Customers can compose with Aria as musicians do with notes, layering and expanding to create harmonies that adapt to the rhythm of their spaces.
The Aria Collection is an evolving presence, one that grows and reshapes itself like a melody that unfolds over time. It moves, it evolves, it becomes. Aria is also a reflection of the sensibility of its creator, Daniela Ferreira. She is delicacy in motion, graceful and profoundly attuned to nature. Her ability to translate the poetry of the natural world into contemporary design gives each creation their soul. “For me, design should move like nature does,” says the designer. “Fluid, alive, and ever changing, Aria Collection is a melody, one that continues to grow in the spaces it inhabits.” Aria is the voice of nature translated into form, the breath of the earth given shape, the melody of life itself moving within us, through us, and beyond us.

A LEGACY IN PORCELAIN: SCULPTING STORIES THROUGH MYSTIQUE 55 1 Your career has taken you from global runways to creative studios and now entrepreneurial leadership. What inspired you to take the leap into launching a luxury ceramics brand?
When I was a little girl, I lived in my sketchbooks — drawing colours, patterns, endless outfits. Creating was simply who I was. But as life became more structured, I drifted away from that instinct. Everything looked perfect from the outside, yet inside something quiet had gone missing. Then the signs began — the number 55 appearing everywhere, nudging me to look deeper and reconnect with myself. I started travelling, hoping to understand what it all meant, and the number followed me like a quiet reminder. The real shift happened in Bodrum. By chance, I was booked into a hidden resort surrounded by forest. Its minimal architecture set against wild nature struck me instantly — a perfect balance of clashing opposites. Something in that stillness opened my creativity again. I realised I didn’t want to just create for seasons anymore. I wanted to create something timeless. That moment Mystique 55 was born — not a business idea, but a return to myself. “Mystique” for the unseen guidance. “55” for the moment my inspiration came back to life. It isn’t named after a number, but after a moment, in which I remembered who I truly am.

valued and remembered — that, to me, is legacy. Creativity and innovation meet in the way we make our pieces. We begin with hand-drawn artwork, then refine it digitally, and we aren’t afraid to work with advanced AI tools. For us, technology isn’t the future — it’s the present. And using it doesn’t take away from craftsmanship; it expands it. It allows us to tell stories with more depth, more precision, more possibility.
2 Mystique 55 reflects a shift from fashion and modelling into the world of craftsmanship and design. When did ceramics first capture your interest as a medium?
My journey continued, and my next destination was Marrakech. There, I found the same harmony between architecture and nature that had inspired me in Bodrum — but expressed with far richer detail and a deep ceramic tradition. Rich colours, geometric patterns, and craftsmanship rooted in centuries of culture were everywhere. In that moment, I felt genuinely inspired. I realised I could take everything fashion had taught me — structure, storytelling, design — and express it through a medium that felt timeless. Every ceramic piece was like a work of art, created to last and to carry meaning long after trends fade.
leadership. How does your ceramics venture embody that vision?
For me, legacy, creativity, and innovation come together very naturally through Mystique 55. Having lived the experience of being an artist waiting to be seen, I wanted to build something that could change that cycle for others. Mystique 55 was created as a form of art merchandise — a platform for artists to have their work live beyond galleries, to exist in the everyday, and to sustain themselves through both small pieces and larger works. Helping others be
And this is where leadership comes in. To lead a creative brand today means knowing how to hold many worlds at once — traditional craft, digital design, art, technology — and guide them toward a single vision. It’s about seeing the bigger picture, tell a story through concept and design. Our approach to sustainability follows the same idea. Instead of speaking only through materials, we speak through imagery. We place birds, animals, and organic forms inside stark digital environments — beauty existing within a fragile, over-digitalised world. It’s a quiet reminder of what is disappearing, and what still deserves protection. Every piece becomes a small space for reflection.
That’s when I knew ceramics were my next language of creation. They held everything I loved — craftsmanship, pattern, narrative — but anchored into objects that can live for generations and continue telling a story sthrough patterns and details. 3 You’ve spoken about wanting to build a legacy that blends creativity, innovation, and

4 Your design background at Parsons Paris and your experience in couture craftsmanship are extraordinary. How have these experiences influenced the aesthetics and techniques behind your ceramic collections?
of your career. How does launching a ceramics brand allow you to express a different part of your identity?
Launching a ceramics brand allowed me to return to the part of myself that existed long before modelling — the designer, the creator, the girl who sketched obsessively from the age of four. Modelling gave me incredible experiences, but it also meant stepping into someone else’s vision. My own ideas, my aesthetic, my sketchbooks were always behind the curtain.
I was very lucky to study at one of the best universities in the world. Parsons gave me a level of inspiration and focus that felt completely natural — and that focus helped me win the Golden Thimble. What I learned there shaped everything I do now. Parsons taught me that fashion is, at its core, a form of art. The materials may change, but the principles stay the same: deep research, strong storytelling, and the courage to create something that has never existed before.
Mystique 55 became the moment I remembered who I was. It wasn’t a business idea — it felt like a rebirth. Ceramics gave me a medium where I could finally create rather than perform.
My time in couture studio in Balmain refined that even further — precision, structure, proportion, and respect for craftsmanship. Those lessons are present in every ceramic collection I design. The process is almost identical: I research, build a narrative, shape the forms, and bring them to life. Only now, I express those ideas through a medium that feels more enduring.
I also discovered how much I enjoy the leadership side — being handson with every part of the brand, from design and production to logistics, sales, and the relationships with clients, department stores, and artists. Running a business requires clarity, kindness, optimism, and a steady belief in what you’re building. If you don’t trust your own vision, how can anyone else follow it?
5 Many people know you as an international model—but far fewer know the artistic and technical side
6 The pieces in your new ceramic line have a distinct artistic language. What themes, inspirations, or cultural references shape the design direction of the collection?
Having experienced the uncertainty of being an artist myself, I created Mystique 55 to give other artists a wider platform — a way for their work to live not only in galleries, but in everyday life. Our first launch, arriving this December, is a collaboration with photographer Tim Flach inspired by his Birds series. We redrew each bird by hand, refined the tones digitally, and paired them with optical-art patterns to create a balance between nature and structure — the visual language of Mystique 55.

Sustainability, for us, is expressed through imagery. By placing living creatures within stark, digital environments, each piece becomes a quiet reminder of the fragile world we are losing, inviting reflection rather than instruction. This meeting of organic forms and precise geometry defines our aesthetic. The result is a contemporary interpretation of beauty — timeless in feeling, yet distinctly modern. 7 Mystique 55 is built around authenticity, heritage, and respect for craft. How do these values show up in the way your ceramics are created?
All of our fine bone china pieces are handmade in England — the place where this craft was born and perfected. We produce our collections in Staffordshire, using time-honoured techniques that have been preserved for generations. Every motif is applied by hand, and each glaze and finish — including our 24-carat gold detailing — is meticulously tested for quality and safety. We honour our artistic collaborators by crediting their work on every piece, and I visit the factory regularly. I genuinely enjoy working with their creative studio — our relationship has become a true partnership built on shared vision and respect for craft. One of my favourite parts of those visits is exploring their archive: an incredible library of hand-drawn sketches dating back centuries.
LUXURY HOMES
Mystique 55 wants to be known for that balance: organic and geometric, handmade and technological, nature and architecture — a modern dialogue built on timeless craft. 9 You often champion fair recognition and opportunity for artists. How does your ceramics brand incorporate or support artist collaboration?
I often draw inspiration from those details, bringing traditional elements into our modern designs. 8 Ceramics is a field rooted deeply in tradition but open to innovation. How do you balance timehonoured techniques with your modern design sensibilities?
I balance tradition and innovation by designing within contrasts is what defines Mystique 55. Our work always starts with the handmade — the heritage of British fine bone china, the touch of the artisan, the precision of traditional craft. But the designs themselves are built on a modern visual language: the meeting of organic forms and geometric structure, nature placed within architectural or digital worlds, softness framed by precision. This tension is intentional. It’s the signature of the brand. We use technology — including digital refinement and advanced AI tools — not to replace the handmade process, but to expand it. The craft gives us authenticity; the technology gives us new possibilities. Together, they create a look that feels both rooted and forward-thinking. Our sustainability message also lives in this contrast. By placing living creatures within controlled, often architectural environments, we quietly show the fragility of the natural world inside a man-made one. It’s a visual reminder rather than a slogan.
At Mystique 55, collaboration is a way of extending an artist’s world into a new dimension. We don’t simply “use” their imagery — we translate their vision into objects of permanence, allowing collectors to live with the art they love in a more intimate, domestic form. Many collectors long to surround themselves with pieces that echo the aesthetic of the works they admire; our ceramics offer that bridge, that continuation of a visual language. For the artists, it becomes a refined platform — their work is introduced into homeware without the burden of managing production, yet their creative identity remains intact. They gain both visibility and royalties, while their artistry finds a new life beyond the frame. It is a mutually enriching exchange: art elevated into object, object elevated by art, each sustaining the other with quiet sophistication. 10 Launching a new venture is always a learning curve. What has been the biggest challenge—and the biggest surprise—since stepping into the world of ceramic artistry and production?
What struck me most was the change of rhythm. Fashion demands constant reinvention — new shapes, new cuts, never-ending urgency. Ceramics, by contrast, offers a fixed form and a far calmer pace. It gives you the luxury of focusing entirely on the artwork, the narrative, the refinement.
85
And collaborating with artists has been a delight — an intimate, deeply creative exchange that feels far more considered than the frenetic churn of fashion. 11 As you merge art, luxury, and craftsmanship, what do you hope collectors will feel or experience when they engage with your ceramic pieces?
I want that immediate moment of wonder — a sense that the piece is both unexpected and irresistible. And then, as they study it, I want the details to unfold gradually, like chapters in a quiet narrative. A Mystique 55 piece should feel alive with discovery: the sort of object you return to, only to notice something new each time. 12 Looking ahead, what can we expect from the evolution of your ceramics brand—new collections, collaborations, or creative directions?
Looking ahead, Mystique 55 will continue to grow as a house of art, storytelling, and refined craftsmanship. Ceramics are only the beginning. In time, we’ll expand into other realms of the home — textiles, objets, perhaps even a quiet return to fashion through select, sculptural pieces that echo our aesthetic language. But for now, our focus is simple: to place our work in the world with purpose. We aim to see Mystique 55 within five-star hotels, private clubs, and the great department stores — spaces that understand timelessness and value the dialogue between art and design. Ultimately, my hope is that Mystique 55 becomes a legacy brand: a place where artists are honoured, craftsmanship is protected, and beauty is made to last. If, in some small way, our pieces make the world feel more considered, more poetic — then we have done our job.

SANLORENZO UNVEILS 58STEEL: THE NEW BENCHMARK IN SUPERYACHT DESIGN BETWEEN 55 AND 60 METRES 15 years after redefining the language of steel yachts, Sanlorenzo writes the next chapter in its story of evolution with the debut of the 58Steel — a refined and extended successor to the acclaimed 57Steel. Featuring an all-new diesel-electric hybrid propulsion system and a reimagined concept of onboard space, 58Steel embodies the brand’s philosophy of elegance, proportion and innovation. This is superyacht design, not just made to measure but made for tomorrow.
THE ART OF LUXURY
ISSUE 74 2026
When Sanlorenzo launched its first steel yacht in 2010, it redefined expectations of what steel could be, combining strength with elegance, restraint and proportion. Today, the brand’s impressive steel line has become the most defined in the segment under 2,000 GT. Now, the new 58Steel, designed by Zuccon International Project for the exteriors, represents a further evolution of this legacy — one metre longer, yet infinitely more versatile. With a completely new platform, an expanded beam of 10.8 metres and the introduction of diesel-electric hybrid technology,
enabling zero-emissions cruising, it unlocks greater space, efficiency and silence.
“The 58Steel embodies the belief of a superyacht that redefines proportion, privacy and performance, offering a new dimension of silent, sustainable cruising,” said Massimo Perotti, Executive Chairman of Sanlorenzo. “It represents our ambition to remain the benchmark in yachts up to 2,000 GT, with our expanded steel line now spanning six individual superyachts that set the standard for design and desirability.”
YACHTS & YACHTING

A SILENT REVOLUTION: diesel-electric propulsion At the heart of the 58Steel lies a revolutionary diesel-electric propulsion system, the first of its kind in Sanlorenzo’s steel line. This new configuration marks a decisive step towards sustainability, reducing emissions by around 10% compared with conventional propulsion and enabling up to two hours of silent cruising or up to eight hours of zero-emissions hotel operation while at anchor. The system is based on five 425 kW generators and a 1 MWh capacity battery pack. Its modular design enhances efficiency and flexibility, while azimuthal pods with rotating propellers improve manoeuvrability and reduce vibration and noise. The entire engine room has been re-engineered to occupy a single deck, freeing up more than 40m² of additional space — a remarkable achievement that has been repurposed to expand the guest and beach areas.
While drawing inspiration from the 57Steel design, 58Steel evolves it completely, offering interior volumes comparable to those of a 64-meter yacht. Every aspect has been conceived with flexibility and personalisation in mind, offering an onboard experience tailored entirely around the owner’s lifestyle.
At the stern, the beach club opens on three sides to create a floating terrace, complete with bar, hammam, gym, and beauty salon — a space designed for connection to the sea through light, silence and simplicity.
“This yacht represents evolution, not repetition. With its dieselelectric propulsion system at the core, the 58Steel unlocks new horizons of freedom: more space, more light, greater efficiency and a profound connection to the sea.” says Tommaso Vincenzi, CEO of Sanlorenzo.
Expansive volumes and customisable layouts deliver the comfort of a larger yacht, with two full-beam VIP cabins on the Lower deck and a Supreme VIP on the Main deck. The Upper deck transforms into a secluded owner’s sanctuary: a panoramic suite with pool, office, dressing area, and a lounge convertible into a private cinema - the perfect configuration also for charter purposes.

EXTERIORS: a sculptural expression of strength and serenity The exterior lines of 58Steel reflect a language of timeless proportions and architectural definition, a clear stylistic expression of the Roman studio. Its sculptural surfaces make Sanlorenzo’s approach to steel explicit: not as a material of excess, but of balance and innovation. The Bridge deck, extended by one metre, has been redesigned to enhance both aesthetics and functionality, merging technology and artistry in equal measure. At the stern, the three-sided beach club remains one of the yacht’s defining statements — a luminous retreat that transforms engineering precision into an experience of pure wellbeing.
A NEW CHAPTER IN STEEL The first 58Steel – Perla Lunar, has been sold by Arcon Yachts, a brokerage company based in Monaco with over 25 years’ experience in superyacht sales. As Sanlorenzo celebrates 15 years of leadership in steel yacht design, the launch of 58Steel reaffirms the brand’s pioneering role in redefining the 55 to 60 metres segment. It stands as a testament to a philosophy where innovation and elegance are inseparable — where technology serves emotion, and craftsmanship meets conscience. Because at Sanlorenzo, the journey of steel is never finished — it continues to evolve.

SUNREEF RELEASES THE LATEST FULL SHOOTING OF THE HIGH-PERFORMANCE ULTIMA 55 CATAMARAN
Sunreef Yachts releases the latest full shooting of its hotly anticipated Ultima 55, the debut model of the shipyard’s new performance catamaran line.
Designed for modern lifestyle seekers and adventure lovers, the Ultima 55 introduces a more contemporary and aggressive look, foil-assisted performance, and exhilarating 38 knot top speeds, all while delivering the signature luxury and comfort that define Sunreef’s DNA. With 5 hulls launched and 9 hulls under construction, the model is proving to be one of Sunreef’s most successful launches to date.
“We listened to our clients, and the feedback was clear,” said Sunreef founder and CEO, Francis Lapp. “There is still huge enthusiasm for our sustainable, solar-powered luxury catamarans, but some of our owners were requesting a smaller, faster and nimbler take on the genre. This is the Ultima line, and we are delighted to see such strong interest following the launch of the Ultima 55, with 5 hulls launched and 9 under construction.”

A NEW CONCEPT From the dock, it is at once obvious that the Ultima 55 is both part of the Sunreef family and something completely new. Its exterior design includes familiar cues, such as the gently chamfered edges and elegantly curved sweep of the hull aft. There’s also the contrast of the dark glass of the superstructure and the numerous hull lights. But the design has been rethought from the keel up. Lines are much more aggressive, with a deep chine and a dramatic reverse bow. The mullions of the saloon windows are raked forward, giving a sense of athleticism and motion. And out of sight, below the twin hulls, a robust foil provides lift and reduces drag. Many of the features on deck will be familiar from the larger Sunreef

Yachts. Twin fold-down wings at the stern create a 7.6m-wide platform for watersports or sun worship. The deck is flush all the way into the main saloon, giving an enormous island of space for sofas, sun loungers and tables, plus the option of a bar area and icemaker. There is a second lounging area on the broad foredeck, benefiting more from the breeze. The aft deck offers plenty of space to store a tender or jetskis using a clever removable crane arm for launch and recovery. When not in use, the crane simply stows away out of sight. Further storage under the aft loungers is ample for an array of toys, from Seabobs to dive kit, making the Ultima 55 an amazing platform for fun on the water.

Sunreef’s 100-strong design department has curated two interior styles, including one based on beautifully grained oak that contrasts with gleaming carbon fibre and upholstery in natural tones. But of course, owners can and will make their own decisions about materials, colours and finishes to end up with the boat that suits their needs to perfection.
“The Ultima is a little unusual for a Sunreef,” said Lapp. “The brand heritage is clear, but the design is edgier and more dynamic. We have drawn on our long experience of developing stable, efficient hulls to create something that is capable of higher speeds. All the elements that characterise a Sunreef are there, from the solar panels to the extreme comfort and flexible exterior living. It’s just in a faster, more compact form.”

TECHNOLOGY AT THE SERVICE OF COMFORT Like all Sunreef yachts, smart technology is used to enhance life on board. The Ultima 55 features high-performance solar panels on the coach roof, capable of generating many kilowatts of renewable power to keep the boat’s batteries topped up. The first boat is equipped with 2× Volvo Penta IPS800 drives to deliver optimal power and manoeuvrability, and Sunreef now has 5 units launched, including some hybrid versions. Twin 350kW motors fitted between the main engines and the propeller offer the possibility of silent electric propulsion at eco speeds and while manoeuvring or fast battery charging when the main 600hp engines are running. A surface drive option is also available for even lower draft.
Facilities below deck preserve Sunreef’s legendarily high comfort, without conceding too much weight. Steps lead down to each hull, giving access to a large master stateroom to portside and a VIP stateroom to starboard, both with large ensuite bathrooms, as well as an extra cabin for a guest or crew member.
Either way, the yacht carries 1,500 litres of fuel, which gives enough range to cross from Capri to Porto Cervo, for instance. The carefully developed foil that spans the two hulls below the waterline is a key part of achieving that range and reducing fuel consumption. It hasn’t been designed to lift the boat out of the water altogether, but it generates enough lift to dramatically reduce the effective weight and drag of the boat. To the same end, the deck is built entirely in carbon composite. The Ultima range runs from 44ft to 111ft in length, covering six models.

Museum Partner For 2026, London Art Fair is proud to host the National Trust as its museum partner, who will present highlights from the collections of two modernist masterpieces: The Homewood and 2 Willow Road. curated artworks. We’re thrilled to bring these remarkable collections together for new audiences to enjoy at London Art Fair.” Platform This year’s Platform section, titled The Unexpected and is curated by art historian and artist Dr Ferren Gipson, brings together galleries and artists redefining the boundaries between craft, applied art, and fine art. Building on Gipson’s acclaimed book Women’s Work, the exhibition explores how materials, process, and form can shift how we create and experience art. From textiles and ceramics to other unconventional media, the section explores the creative possibilities and surprises that emerge when artists experiment and innovate.
The Homewood in Esher, a postwar unconventional and luxurious modernist masterpiece designed by Patrick Gwynne, was built on stilts and meticulously designed as his family home until 2003. Highlights from its collection, including drawings by French artist and sculptor Henri Gaudier-Brzeska, will also be on display at the Fair. John Chu, Senior Curator of Pictures and Sculpture at the National Trust, said, “Both 2 Willow Road and The Homewood are exceptional examples of British modernist homes preserved with their original art collections. At 2 Willow Road, Ernő and Ursula Goldfinger’s passion for art was inseparable from their architecture: deeply embedded in artistic circles, the couple supported exhibitions and were patrons of modernist artists. The Homewood, a mid-century modernist dream designed by Patrick Gwynne, carries the spirit of 1930s modernism into the postwar era with its elegant design and

Among the highlights, Cavaliero Finn will present works by Isabel Fletcher, Alice Foxen and Richard McVetis, artists who each explore materiality in distinct ways. Fletcher’s Satin Overlap repurposes offcuts from ballet shoes, which would normally be discarded, to create a delicate, layered work raising questions about sustainability, labour and transformation. Quad Fine Art will show works by Peter Jackson, known for his inventive use of surface and texture. Jackson blends sand, gravel
and burlap into paint, creating tactile, abstract compositions that appear minimalist at first but reveal complex layers on closer inspection. Gillian Jason Gallery, which champions femaleidentifying artists, will bring work by Emily Ponsonby, who uses an ancient technique through beeswax and oil to build rich, textured layers that reveal their subjects over time. Thrown Contemporary will present expressive ceramics in terracotta, stoneware, porcelain and mixed media, from artists including Bisila Noha, Renata Cassiano Alvarez, Zuleika Melluish and Michael Rice.
Dr Ferren Gipson said, “I’m very interested in how an artist’s choice of materials shapes the way we interpret their work. I love seeing artists push the limits of what a medium can do - through unconventional processes, unusual combinations, or by drawing out qualities we didn’t expect. The Unexpected is about celebrating that spirit of curiosity and innovation, and I hope visitors will experience moments of surprise and delight as they encounter these works.” Encounters The Fair will also see the return of the Encounters section, established in 2005 to support emerging and international galleries. This year’s edition brings together a diverse selection of galleries from around the world, with participation subsidised by London Art Fair to champion new talent and provide a platform for engaging with collectors at the heart of London’s art scene. In this section, Gallery Kitai, based in Japan and specialising in contemporary art using Eastern ink, will present new work by artist Fumie Onuki created especially for the Fair. Istanbul-based Gallery KAIROS‘ presentation will explore themes of memory,

fragility, and queer temporality, through artists like Murat Balcı, who approaches issues of power, body, and representation through a queer political lens. Returning to Encounters, another gallery hailing from Istanbul Galeri/Miz will be presenting works from Belmin Pilevneli, Doğukan Çiğdem, Metin Kalkızoğlu, and Tuba Önder Demircioğlu. Mexico City-based gallery Avant Dev, a first time exhibitor at the Fair, will present a dynamic display of traditional and digital materials, including emerging artist Murakiit, who combines the aesthetics of pixel art with traditional painting and textile. Dr Pryle Behrman, curator of Encounters, said, “This year’s Encounters sees many artists exploring and reimagining the sociological notion of ‘radical care’. This might involve highlighting water as a symbol of nurturing that spans both Daoist theology and contemporary feminism, as evident in BAISHUI’s installation by RONG Art Space from Shanghai. While caring for people remains of utmost importance for the artists of Encounters, the scope of ‘radical care’ is expanded to incorporate
artistic legacies, diverse and sometimes fragile materials, and the world in its entirety beyond humankind.”

BRITISH MUSEUM TO SAVE EXQUISITE HENRY VIII PENDANT FOR THE NATION The British Museum has today launched a major campaign to save the ‘Tudor Heart’, a spectacular gold pendant linked to Henry VIII and Katherine of Aragon, by acquiring it permanently for the nation.
Discovered in 2019 by a metal detectorist, the Museum has the opportunity to purchase the Heart to stop it entering a private collection. It hopes to raise £3.5m by April 2026 and calls for public support to achieve this goal and help ensure it remains on view for generations to come. The dazzling heart-shaped 24-carat-gold pendant offers a rare glimpse into Henry VIII’s marriage to Katherine of Aragon, uniting the Tudor rose with Katherine’s pomegranate symbol. Beneath, a banner reads tousiors, the old French for ‘always’, a poignant declaration of an eternal connection. Their marriage, lasting 24 years, was the longest of Henry’s life and shaped the early Tudor court with Katherine as a trusted partner of Henry, sometimes acting as Regent in his times of absence. Almost no other objects survive that celebrate Henry and Katherine’s relationship, most having been lost over time. The Tudor Heart therefore acts as an important historical witness, showing both the luxury of Henry VIII’s earlier reign and the strength of their union before it was ultimately annulled in 1533. Research by the British Museum suggests the pendant may have been created for a tournament held in October 1518 to mark the
betrothal of their daughter, Princess Mary, to the French heir apparent. Henry frequently commissioned London goldsmiths to create ‘costume’ jewellery for major celebrations and state occasions which were worn briefly by members of the court to create the impression of great splendour. The campaign has been kick-started by a donation of £500,000 from The Julia Rausing Trust, bringing the goal of acquiring the pendant closer.
Unearthed in a field in Warwickshire, the Heart was discovered and subsequently reported under the Treasure Act 1996. Under the act, finders are obligated to report all finds of potential treasure and are rewarded for their contributions to the telling of history. The vital scheme, run by the Portable Antiquities Scheme (PAS), gives museums and galleries in England an avenue to protect history and ensure museums have the opportunity to acquire unique and significant objects to put on public display.
