“Color Me Happy – Portugal” is built on a clear belief: colour has the power to change how we feel at home. The project was never about making a “colourful house,” but about designing a home where colour becomes an emotional language.
Every room began with the same question — what should this space make you feel? — and the palette, materials, lighting and furniture were shaped around that emotion. Each space became its own world. The fuchsia office is bold and energising, designed to spark
confidence and creativity the moment you walk in. The deep blue powder room feels grounding and introspective — a quiet reset. The dining room carries a sense of fun and rhythm, built for long conversations and easy gatherings. The living room brings several hues together in a softer, more relaxed

way, creating a space where people naturally slow down, connect and unwind.
Although every room has a strong identity, the whole house remains coherent. That balance comes from recurring materials, natural textures, curved silhouettes and a commitment to comfort. Nothing is loud for the sake of being loud; the colour is there because it makes the home feel more alive, more personal and more joyful.
The project is also subtly shaped by its location in Estoril. The distinctive coastal light influenced how the palette shifts from room to room, and Portuguese craftsmanship is present in the stones, wood, woven textures and handmade details that bring warmth and honesty to the spaces.
“Color Me Happy – Portugal” is not about following trends. It’s about creating a home where emotion has a place — a home that welcomes optimism, personality and joy, room by room.
What was the initial vision for ‘Color Me Happy - Portugal,’ and how do you define the role of color and emotion in creating distinct interior spaces?
“Color Me Happy – Portugal” started with the idea that home should make you feel something every

day. We wanted to explore how colour can genuinely influence mood — not just look pretty. Instead of treating colour as an accent, we used it as the starting point for each room. Every space was given its own emotional atmosphere: the bright fuchsia office is full of energy and confidence, the deep blue powder room feels calm and grounding, the dining space has a fun graphic rhythm, and the living

room brings everything together in a way that’s playful but also very relaxing.
The intention was never to use colour for shock value. It was about creating a house where every room has its own personality and where the people living there can move through different emotions throughout the day. Colour here isn’t decoration — it’s a feeling.

Can you elaborate on the challenges and triumphs of working with such a vibrant and saturated color palette? How do you ensure balance and avoid overwhelming the senses?
Working with saturated colours is exciting, but it’s not easy. Strong colours can lift a space instantly, but if they’re not handled carefully,
they can also become exhausting. The biggest challenge is getting the balance right — not only visually, but emotionally.
For us, the key is letting colour take the lead while everything around it supports the mood. When a wall or ceiling has a powerful tone, we make sure the shapes, materials and textures in the room are considered.

Curves, natural fabrics, matte finishes and pieces with history help the colour feel intentional rather than loud. Lighting also plays a huge role: saturated hues look completely different in daylight and at night, so each palette was adjusted until it felt good at every hour.

The triumph is when you walk into the room and don’t think about the colour first — you think about how the room makes you feel. When a vibrant palette becomes comfortable, when people relax in it, when they smile without knowing why — that’s when we know we got it right.
How do you approach the design process to ensure each room truly feels like a ‘distinct world’ while maintaining a cohesive narrative throughout the entire project?
The idea of each room feeling like its own “world” doesn’t happen by accident. We start by asking a simple question: what should this room make you feel? Once we define the emotion, we build everything around it — the colour, the shapes, the textures, the lighting, even the artwork. But making every space different doesn’t mean the house should feel disconnected. The secret is in the threads that quietly link everything together. It might be
a repeated material, a certain tone of metal, the way patterns are layered, or the softness of the lighting. These elements keep the whole house speaking the same language, even when each room has its own personality. We don’t want people to walk through the house and notice a design concept — we want them to feel a story unfolding. One room energises, another calms, another invites playfulness… yet they all belong to the same home, to the same family, to the same life. When a project feels both varied and harmonious, that’s when we know we’ve succeeded.
Did the project’s location in Estoril, Portugal, influence any of the design choices, particularly in terms of color palette or material selection?
Yes — the location in Estoril definitely influenced the design, even if not in an obvious, “coastal” way. Estoril has a very particular light, and that light changes colour in a beautiful way throughout the
day. The sunrise has soft pinks and oranges, the afternoon light is sharper and slightly golden, and the evenings have a deep blue tone that feels almost cinematic. Those shifts helped guide the palette for each room. We didn’t copy the colours literally, but we tried to capture the mood of them.
The materials also reflect Portugal in a subtle way. Natural stones, timber, woven textures and handmade finishes were intentionally chosen because they feel familiar in a Portuguese home — not rustic, but warm and tactile. There’s a certain comfort and honesty in Portuguese craftsmanship, and we wanted that spirit inside the house.
So even though the project isn’t a “Portugal-themed” interior, it couldn’t exist anywhere else. The light, the landscape and the atmosphere of Estoril shaped the feeling of the home — colourful, sunny, emotional and easy to live in.
How did the collaboration with photographer Francisco Nogueira help in translating the project’s bold use of color and emotional depth into compelling visual narratives?
Colour is extremely hard to photograph properly — especially saturated tones — because the
emotion can disappear if the lighting isn’t right. Francisco understood from the beginning that this project wasn’t just about colourful rooms; it was about how colour makes you feel in each space.
Instead of trying to make everything look perfect or overly glossy, he focused on atmosphere.
He paid attention to how the light hits the walls at different hours, how textures soften strong colours, how reflections and shadows add warmth, and how the rooms feel when someone is actually living in them. He didn’t flatten the colours — he let them breathe.

The result is that the photos don’t only show the design; they tell the story of the house. You can sense the energy in the office, the calm in the blue powder room, the playfulness of the dining area and the relaxed mood of the living room. Francisco managed to capture the soul of the project, not just the surfaces — and that’s exactly what we hoped for.

Unveiled in Paris during Maison&Objet In The City 2026, Collezione Moinard Bétaille - designed by Bruno Moinard and Claire Bétaille - blends the creative vision of the French architect duo with Bisazza’s exceptional savoir-faire.
The hallmark of the collection is the focus on detail, from the careful selection of exquisite marbles to the refined pairing of colours and finally the diligent craftsmanship of the cutting of each tile.
The four new décors - Cadence, Cosmos, Écho, and Accord - part of the Marmo and Marmosaico lines, propose a refined contemporary reinterpretation of a timeless aesthetic, enhanced by the sensibility of two great French signatures.
Developed in a broad palette of tones and contrasts, from light to dark, the patterns enhance the full brilliance and depth of marble, one of the architects’ signature materials.
Cadence. A repeated, harmonious alternance of geometric shapes. Fugue and Elégie come on a light background, while Nocturne is set against a dark backdrop.
Cosmos. An apparently random juxtaposition of marbles in different sizes, shapes and colors. The Eclipse version is an elegant beige camaïeu, while Nova and Astrée sparkle with multicolored tiles on a deep black ground.
Écho. A marble mosaic motif enriched with 24kt gold tiles, is defined by a sinuous flow that creates a dynamic effect. Luminous in the light variants Aube and Brume, and elegant in the dark Nuit version.
Accord. A rhythmic sequence of two-tone modules in both regular and irregular sizes. A delicate light hue for the Aurore version, while the Minuit version features a black and white combination.

Graduated from the École nationale supérieure des arts appliqués et des métiers d’art Olivier de Serres, Bruno Moinard is an internationally acclaimed architect.
After fifteen important years working with the legendary Andrée Putman at the Écart International agency, he founded his agency 4BI in 1996, which became Moinard Bétaille in 2020.
In 2002, the prestigious maison Cartier gave him the ambitious project of developing a new concept and tailoring it to boutiques worldwide. This lasting collaboration has led to the creation of over 500 boutiques.
His style features minimalism, sober yet non-austere style, and timeless elegance.

His extraordinary successes testify to his undeniable talent: from the Hôtel du Marc by Veuve Clicquot in Reims to Château Latour in Pauillac, from the Hôtel Plaza Athénée in Paris to the Hôtel Eden, from the Four Seasons Hotel and Restaurant La Dame de Pic at Trinity Square in London, to the Hotel Cala di Volpe in Sardinia, from Château Troplong Mondot in Saint-Émilion, to Clos de Tart in Morey-Saint-Denis, his approach to luxury stands out for its ability to enhance details and celebrate the art of detail and finishes.
In 2013, he established Bruno Moinard Éditions, debuting its inaugural collection of furniture, lighting, and accessories. The following year, the Galerie Bruno Moinard Éditions was inaugurated, located at 31 rue Jacob in SaintGermain-des-Prés, Paris.
Parallel to his work as a designer, Bruno Moinard pursues a deep passion for painting, which offers him complete expressive freedom. His works are exhibited permanently at the Bruno Moinard Éditions gallery, where they dialogue harmoniously with the collection’s furniture.

Interior architect and designer Claire Bétaille, who graduated from École du Louvre and École Camondo, joined 4BI—the studio founded by architect Bruno Moinard—in 2007. Soon involved in developing the Cartier boutique concept, she became a key figure in the agency’s growth, especially after 2010, when it experienced significant expansion in Asia. In 2012, Bruno Moinard proposed that she join the studio as a partner.
Together, Bruno Moinard and Claire Bétaille bring to life projects including the design and renovation of palaces, boutiques, department stores, museums, private homes, apartments, and prestigious wineries worldwide.

In 2020, marking the 25th anniversary of 4BI, the agency took on a new name, Moinard Bétaille, honoring a decade-long collaboration and success between the two partners.
Paths, passages, encounters, patterns, forgotten hopscotches, patches of a hedgerow, a wandering geometry dotted with bright points… The lines of the Réminiscence collection, created for Bisazza by Bruno Moinard and Claire Bétaille, bring to the www.bisazza.com
surface an intimate story, a weaving of memories that rise up and dive back into the roots of their inspiration. Bruno’s childhood curiosity for the precious assembly of stone, brick, and flint in the walls of an old Norman dovecote; Claire’s wonder as a little girl before the mosaics of a Roman amphitheatre in Aquitaine; their later discovery of floors and walls in places of memory and eternity during their uninterrupted quest for the timeless; their desire to rediscover the spirit of a place and revive its presence: all their sensitivity returns here, blends, and engages in dialogue with the infinite diversity of Bisazza’s treasures.

Havwoods’ Elegante Veneer offers a refined approach to introducing natural texture and character across interior surfaces.
Designed for use on walls, ceilings, furniture and joinery, the collection lends itself to applications ranging from tactile kitchen cabinetry to sculptural feature walls, bringing depth and warmth to contemporary schemes.

forma /ˈfɔːrmə/ n. [from Latin fōrma] the way in which an object appears externally.
Forma is an Italian word of Latin origin meaning “aspect, figure, appearance.”
Formatech is a collection born from the collaboration between Florim and Gensler, two companies that share a common vision: to create surfaces that go beyond mere products and become design tools capable of narrating matter, its transformation, and its permanence over time.
Emerging from an intense technical and creative dialogue, the collection explores the natural inclination of matter to change, capturing its different phases and crystallizing its evolution. It is a reflection on transformation, durability, and sustainability: a delicate balance between authenticity and innovation, where porcelain stoneware becomes both expressive and functional.

Formatech stems from the desire to investigate how ceramic surfaces can rigorously and sensitively convey the essence of raw elements such as concrete, metal, and plaster, restoring their formal truth in a dimension that is both accessible and enduring. The result is a collection that interprets three material archetypes, each portrayed
at a specific stage of its lifecycle. Not imitation, but interpretation. Not decoration, but architecture.
Product Design Consultant Gensler translated its design needs into a valuable tool for architects and designers: a finely tuned palette that defines a consistent style, versatile enough to adapt across

multiple applications without losing its identity. Offered in three distinctive finishes, Cast, Forge, and Cure, and in three thicknesses, Formatech provides flexible solutions through complementary formats.
Florim contributed its industrial expertise and its commitment to sustainability to transform this vision into matter. The result is a collection that celebrates the essence of foundational materials, translating them into durable, responsible surfaces designed to last.

A meditation on material truth. A collection that preserves the traces of time, the marks of tools, the patina that tells the story of lived experience. A manifesto of design honesty: not perfect, but true in its aesthetic nature.
Gensler and Florim share core values: responsibility toward the planet, a pursuit of sustainable solutions, and a commitment to creating environments that enhance quality of life. This synergy has led to a collection that does more than reinterpret surfaces—it reflects a shared ethic, where design serves both people and the spaces they inhabit.

A system of finishes designed for multiple applications, able to integrate seamlessly and fully meet every design requirement. The range includes: Cast – concrete with inclusions and aggregate mixes, Forge – metals marked by the passage of time, and Cure –minimal plaster in its curing phase. Formats range from 30x60 cm up to 120x280 cm in various thicknesses, depending on the product.
Technological innovation
The Formatech collection showcases Florim’s most advanced decorative technologies, combining high technical performance with outstanding aesthetics. Colored body tiles, pad-printed textures, graphic designs, and both chromatic and three-dimensional digital applications come together in a single product made of fine technical porcelain stoneware. In the Cast finish, the body is enriched with tone-on-tone granules that interact with the surface decoration, created using 3D materials. The result is a richly detailed texture, featuring variations in gloss and depth— without compromising the product’s durability. This

makes it particularly well-suited to the demands of large-scale architectural projects. In Forge, the focus shifts to color, aiming to replicate the natural oxidation and nuanced tones of metal. This approach works in synergy with the development of the tile body to achieve the desired effect.
The Formatech collection is the result of a careful, environmentally conscious process, manufactured in facilities where all raw production waste, as well as all wastewater, are recovered and reused. Florim – a Benefit Corporation and certified B Corp – generates up to 100% of

This year, the design duo
On the occasion of Salone del Mobile. Milano 2026, the brand chooses to broaden its upholstered furniture offering, reinforcing the concept of a cohesive system designed to meet the needs of the contract sector, while maintaining the versatility needed for contemporary living.
Ruby evolves from an armchair into a sofa. Soft curves and generous proportions define the transition between the extra-large seat, distinguished by visible stitching, to the backrest that gently embraces the body, naturally extending into the armrests. A formal gesture that defines the identity of the entire collection.
Even as a sofa, Ruby shows its Sandinavian ispiration: the wooden frame, consistent with its armchair counterpart, lends solidity and character to this new furnishing piece. Wood is a refined and durable material capable of creating a cocooning effect, welcoming the soft cushions padded with high-density foam.
Primarily designed for contract and hospitality environments, the Ruby sofa finds its ideal place in a hotel lobby, a prestigious lounge, a waiting area, an executive space or a contemporary office. The visible stitching highlights the meticulous, tailored attention to detail, reflecting the project’s 100% Made in Italy identity, while fully meeting the functional and durability requirements of these demanding settings.

The Ruby sofa and armchair share a coordinated and complementary design language, ensuring perfect compatibility in terms of structure, details, aesthetic features, upholstery, and materials. www.cattelanitalia.com
In its sofa and lounge armchair versions, Ruby emerges as a versatile duo, exploring new frontiers of design while adapting effortlessly to different contexts. It preserves its distinctive design identity and its ability to interpret everyday living through the contemporary essence of Cattelan Italia design.

After shaping the language of high-end outdoor design, Talenti brings its vision indoors, opening a new chapter defined by fluidity, continuity and the quality of the living experience.
After years of establishing a distinctive identity in high-end outdoor design, Talenti opens a new chapter in its history with the launch of its first Talenti Home catalogue, marking the brand’s official entry into the world of interior design.
A natural evolution, born from the desire to bring indoors the same design vision developed through constant dialogue with nature, transforming it into refined, welcoming environments conceived to be lived fully and authentically.
Talenti Home brings together entirely new creations alongside indoor reinterpretations of the brand’s outdoor icons, shaping a fluid and coherent living ecosystem in which interior and exterior are no longer separate realms, but parts of a single, continuous experience. Different spaces, one identity: a design philosophy that places comfort, material quality and the pleasure of living each environment at its core.
This new chapter is signed by Ludovica Serafini + Roberto Palomba, who, after years of collaboration with Talenti, have guided the brand through this pivotal transition. Their work unfolds on two complementary levels: on the one hand, the indoor reinterpretation of iconic collections; on the other, the

design of entirely new furnishings, conceived from the outset to inhabit boundless spaces with balance and elegance.
When, in 2004, Fabrizio Cameli, CEO and Founder of Talenti, first gave shape to his vision of outdoor living, the goal was clear: to transform outdoor spaces into places to be lived with the same intensity, care and comfort traditionally reserved for interiors. At the time, it was a radical vision—one that would go on to redefine the very concept of outdoor furniture.
Through continuous research into materials, padding, craftsmanship and modularity, Talenti has built deep expertise, developed through an ongoing dialogue with nature and with diverse living contexts. Over time, the boundary between outdoor and indoor has grown increasingly thin—until today it has become almost unnecessary.
Talenti Home is born precisely from this journey: from the desire to extend this design culture into

interior spaces while preserving the values that have made the brand internationally recognisable. It is not a simple range extension, but the completion of a vision of living based on continuity, coherence and the quality of experience.
A vision capable of positioning Talenti as a complete furnishing system for both residential and
contract environments, supporting architects, designers and clients in the creation of continuous, coherent and recognisable spaces across international markets.

Fabrizio Cameli, CEO and Founder of Talenti
While Talenti Outdoor has historically been characterised by articulated, modular product families, Talenti Home is composed of distinctive, singular pieces—designed to act as strong, recognisable presences within space.

The furnishings stem from a unified design approach, in which the same project is developed for both indoor and outdoor use, maintaining formal coherence, identity and language while responding to different functional requirements and contexts. Like instruments in an orchestra, each element enters into dialogue within a harmonious system, while preserving a strong individual character.
The collections draw inspiration from deep, recognisable universes: some explore themes of interiority and the soul, such as Alma or Tamashi; others pay tribute to icons of international music, such as Elton John or Grace Jones, translating their personality and energy into forms, proportions and materials. Objects designed not merely to furnish, but to accompany everyday life— transforming spaces into coherent, identity-driven experiences meant to be fully lived.

Elstead Lighting have been manufacturing and distributing decorative lighting since 1969. They have developed a diverse collection of North American designed product to broaden the UK portfolio, including famous brands such as Hinkley, Quoizel, Kichler and Alora Mood.
With a constant focus on quality, backed by large stock holding, Elstead supplies interior designers and decorative specifiers in more than fifty countries that require 220-240v fixtures.
Featured is the Etcher pendant designed by Kichler which is ideal for multi drops over a bar or restaurant tables. It is reminiscent of a champagne bucket design with its elongated, tapered silhouette and smooth exterior. Its custom square chain design and riveted details on the top, bottom and side of the fixture offer a classic,

updated industrial style. It has an etched glass diffuser to ensure maximum illumination without glare. This Black and Brass model is available in two sizes alongside
a charming Champagne Bronze finish to choose from.
For any living or dressing room space, we showcase the Arden wall light designed by Alora Mood. Featuring ribbed details for added texture, Arden offers versatility with a decorative half shade or exposed opal glass globe for a minimalist look. Shown in Brushed Gold finish, it is also available in a black finish, accented by walnut wood veneer which brings a rustic or industrial charm to the design. A single wall light and mini pendant complete the collection.
For a coastal vibe, we feature the Arlen large (76cm diameter) pendant designed by Hinkley. It has a woven, all-weather rattan shade (IP44 rated) perfect for entertaining in al fresco dining spaces. The natural texture and neutral tones are complemented by a chic black canopy. There is also a 61cm diameter model in this outdoor pendant range.

For the past four years, the British Institute of Interior Design (BIID) has hosted its annual BIID Interior Design Awards, which celebrate the very best of British design across multiple regions and highlight excellence in both residential and commercial design.

Last year’s winners included stunning residential designs, such as the West Sussex – Private Residence, from Studio 9 Design, winner of the South East regional category.
The West Sussex family home was sensitively reimagined by Studio 9 Design to support contemporary living, whilst respecting the building’s historic character as a Grade II listed property, located within the South Downs National Park. The project reflects a quiet, considered approach to luxury residential design, balancing restoration with thoughtful architecture and interior interventions.
Originally known as Poynings Mansion, the house had evolved over time through a series of extensions that left the layout fragmented and lacking cohesion. Dark rear areas, poor circulation and limited natural light created a disconnect between the original house and later additions. The client’s brief was to transform the property into a comfortable, contemporary family home that did not feel like a mansion, but a home that prioritised flow, comfort and calm over formality.
Studio 9 Design led both the architectural and interior design, choosing a holistic approach to reworking the building’s internal structure. Circulation was completely reimagined to clarify the relationship between public and private spaces, ensuring each room had a clear purpose and eliminating functional overlap. Living areas were arranged to support daily family life as well as entertaining, strengthening connections whilst maintaining a sense of privacy.

A key addition was the introduction of an orangery, which now forms a seamless link between the kitchen and garden. This intervention significantly improves natural light levels and enhances the home’s connection to its setting, encouraging indoor-outdoor living and reducing reliance on artificial lighting. Elsewhere, previously underused spaces were repurposed, including the transformation of a former corridor into a light-filled home office with glazed doors.
The interior palette is calm and neutral, chosen to soften proportions and create continuity throughout the house. Moments of colour were introduced selectively in areas such as bathrooms, guest bedrooms and the cinema room, allowing each space to develop its own identity while remaining part of a cohesive whole. Locally sourced joinery sits alongside antique and bespoke furniture, ensuring a home that has personal details and emotional depth.

The completed home has had a tangible impact on the family’s wellbeing. Improved flow, increased natural light and clearer spatial organisation have transformed once-formal areas into inviting, practical spaces. The house has become a welcoming hub for family and friends, reflecting Studio 9 Design’s ability to craft residential interiors that are both refined and deeply homely.
Submissions for the 2026 BIID Interior Design Awards are open, with the introduction of dedicated residential and commercial subcategories within each regional project category. For the first time, this enables projects to be evaluated according to their specific specialisms and underscores the BIID’s commitment to representing diverse perspectives within the industry and uniting interior designers from all disciplines.

Sintered stone is redefining modern kitchen design, seamlessly merging aesthetics with performance.
Its dense, non-porous structure resists water, stains, and heat, ensuring hygienic and easy-to-maintain surfaces that retain their refined look over time. Yet, beyond its technical advantages, sintered stone has become a true design statement – a symbol of modern elegance and understated luxury.
Today’s interiors gravitate toward natural textures and a sense of calm minimalism. Designers seek materials that embody purity, durability, and authenticity – qualities inherent to sintered stone. Its seamless aesthetics allow for large, continuous surfaces without visible joints, creating a sense of visual unity. The result is a kitchen space that feels sculptural and refined, where every line is deliberate, and every surface flows effortlessly into the next.
The material’s tactile texture and natural hues bring warmth and sophistication to contemporary interiors. Neutral shades of beige, sand, stone grey, and earthy browns echo the tones of nature – timeless and versatile. These muted palettes, complemented by soft matte finishes, make sintered stone a perfect fit for modern spaces that value tranquillity, simplicity, and balance.
This vision comes to life in a kitchen fully clad in MDi Inalco Petra Crema abujardado – from flooring and walls to shelving and decorative milled panels. The subtle cream tone and textured finish recreate the look of natural stone, enhancing both the aesthetic and sensory experience. The countertop, featuring an integrated stone sink, embodies seamless functionality, while aluminum fronts filled with sintered stone highlight precision and modern craftsmanship.

At the center stands an island in MDi Inalco Umbra Marron abujardado, a darker, richer tone that grounds the composition. Within it lies an innovative detail – an integrated induction hob that allows cooking directly on the stone surface. This fusion of advanced technology and design sophistication defines the kitchen as not just a workspace, but an architectural statement – minimal, elegant, and enduring.
Sintered stone captures the essence of contemporary design: natural beauty refined through innovation. It is the material of choice for those who seek a kitchen that is not only functional, but also timeless, sculptural, and distinctly modern.
VIYAR FURNITURE perfectly combines aesthetic elegance with practical functionality in all its projects. Using advanced technology and premium materials, the company creates kitchens known for their durability, sophistication, and timeless design. Each element reflects a harmonious balance of beauty and functionality, bringing comfort and style to every home.
At VIYAR FURNITURE, we bring any your idea to life – from unique custom pieces to full-scale projects.

After years of pale minimalism and spa-like simplicity, the design world is embracing a richer, more emotive palette. Dark romanticism - defined by its deep hues, opulent materials and quietly dramatic atmosphere - has become one of 2025’s most alluring interior movements. In bathrooms, it signals a shift from pure functionality to something altogether more expressive and sensual.

The look is steeped in contrasts: polished nickel against veined marble, unlacquered brass framed by deep green or oxblood walls, the soft gleam of candlelight playing over cast-iron and stone. These are spaces that evoke old-world grandeur and modern intimacy in equal measure.
“Bathroomshavealwaysbeen aplaceofritual,” says James Lentaigne, Creative Director at Drummonds. “The rise of darker, moreatmosphericpalettesspeaks to a desire for immersion and privacy. We’reseeingclientsmove awayfromstarkwhiteminimalism towardsspacesthatfeelcocooning, layeredandemotionallyresonant.”
Drummonds’ collections lend themselves naturally to this darker mood. Cast-iron baths with raw or burnished exteriors, aged brassware, and richly toned marbles such as Black Marquina, Verde Guatemala or Nero Portoro

all embody the aesthetic’s tactile depth. Each piece, handcrafted in the company’s foundry, reveals the subtle beauty of patina and timehonoured techniques.
“Darker schemes allow craftsmanshiptotakecentrestage,” Lentaigne continues. “A handpolishedspoutagainstblackmarble or the textured surface of raw iron catchinglowlightbecomesafocal pointinitself.Thesematerials celebrateimperfection-they agebeautifullyandgrowmore characterful with use.”
More than a stylistic phase, dark romanticism reflects a wider return to emotional interiorsspaces that tell a story through materiality and light. In the bathroom, this translates to a retreat-like atmosphere: enveloping
colours, natural textures and an appreciation for the handmade.
Rooted in 19th-century sensibilities, dark romanticism finds its natural home in Drummonds’ world. The brand’s freestanding baths, highlevel cisterns and solid-brass fittings echo the grandeur of Victorian engineering - designs conceived in an age that prized ornament, weight and permanence.
Reinterpreted for contemporary interiors, these heritage forms reflect a renewed appreciation for authenticity and craft. Their sculptural lines and richly worked finishes lend a sense of permanence and depth, aligning seamlessly with the darker, more atmospheric mood shaping today’s most considered bathrooms.
In an age of fast fashion and fleeting trends, Renaissance at Home offers a breath of enduring elegance.
Renaissance at Home, www.renaissanceathome.co.uk is a haven for those who appreciate craftsmanship, heritage, and the timeless charm of period interiors. With an exquisite collection of cast iron baths and radiators, the brand redefines traditional living for the modern age—uniting historic design with contemporary comfort.
Every piece in the Renaissance at Home collection tells a story. Their cast iron radiators, available in a range of ornate Victorian and Edwardian styles, are more than functional heating solutions—they are statement pieces, sculptural in form and rich in detail. Whether finished in hand-polished metal or bespoke paint shades, these radiators bring a sense of authenticity and grandeur to any interior. They’re engineered to last generations, radiating warmth in both a literal and aesthetic sense.
The bath collection is equally captivating. Freestanding and indulgently deep, these cast iron baths are the epitome of luxury bathing. From clawfoot classics to elegantly smooth roll-top silhouettes, each bath is crafted with precision and care. Customers can customise finishes inside and out, creating a centrepiece that reflects personal style while honouring historical design. The tactile richness of enamelled cast iron and the elegant curves of 19th-

century silhouettes invite relaxation and elevate the bathing experience to an art form.
What sets Renaissance at Home apart is their deep respect for heritage fused with an eye for modern living. Sustainability is woven into their ethos—cast iron is not only durable but also recyclable, making their products a thoughtful choice for eco-conscious consumers. Their commitment to quality is matched by a keen sense of service, offering tailored guidance for clients, whether restoring a listed manor or adding a touch of character to a contemporary home.
As period design enjoys a welldeserved resurgence, Renaissance at Home stands as a beacon for those who value timeless beauty. Their website is a carefully curated portal into a world where craftsmanship reigns, and where every bath and
radiator is more than a product—it’s a piece of history, lovingly revived for today.
For designers, architects, and homeowners seeking to add depth and distinction to their spaces, Renaissance at Home is an essential destination.

Legacyisnotsomethingwe preserve—itissomethingwe move.AtWoodbender, ourdeeprootedmasteryofsteambending now becomes the foundation for anewdesignexpression, where everycurvereflectsinnovation, comfort, and a commitment to craftthatvaluesprocessasmuch as outcome.
There is a moment in steam bending when timber softens—when resistance gives way to possibility. At Woodbender, that moment marks the beginning of design. Step into our world and you’ll find more than tools, forms, and raw material. You’ll find people — skilled hands guided by experience, thoughtful design insight, and a collective commitment to precision. Here, people, process, and passion converge to transform raw timber into experiences that inspire.
Every curve emerges through collaboration. Today, that collaboration is driven by our R&D team: Jordan Bailiff, Head of Design, and Grant Longmore, Head of Technical. Together, they unite creative direction with engineering discipline, ensuring that form and feasibility evolve as one. Their leadership reflects Woodbender’s core values: uncompromising excellence in execution, a pioneering spirit in exploration, and an authentic identity expressed through designs grounded in material honesty. Our products are not simply objects; they are the result of intentional development, considered experimentation, and collective expertise.
To define this new era, we returned to the fundamentals of hand bending. Difficult to master and even harder to innovate within, the technique became both constraint
and opportunity. Jigs were refined. Timing adjusted. Sequences reconsidered. Through disciplined iteration, form and method were brought into alignment. Each refinement deepened our understanding of strength, spring back, ergonomics, and structural integrity. The result is confident simplicity — innovation embedded within the process itself.
This marks a decisive evolution. Woodbender is no longer defined solely as a furniture manufacturer, but as a design house shaped by its command of steam bending. Our presence is simple, direct, and intentional. We cut through spectacle with clarity, revealing development rather than concealing it. Every detail communicates who we are. Every line reflects considered judgement. Innovation here is not decorative — it is structural, purposeful, and honest.

Nearly four decades ago, Charles Mast established Woodbender with a pioneering belief in the potential of steam-bent timber. His willingness to challenge convention laid the foundation for what the company would become. That early spirit remains embedded in our culture today. It lives in the balance between experimentation and discipline, between ambition and restraint. The legacy is not preserved in sentiment, but in continued progression.
The Power of Restraint
Craft and innovation are inseparable. We believe art is not found in excess, but in restraint — allowing material, form, and function to exist without unnecessary intervention. Every curve serves a purpose.
Every decision is deliberate. Nothing is added without reason.
Legacy in Motion
Legacy, for Woodbender, is not static. It is carried forward — from Charles Mast’s founding vision to the leadership shaping its future today. It lives in the dialogue between design and technique, in uncompromising standards, and in a pioneering spirit that continues to explore what steam bending can become.
To mark this next chapter, Woodbender will present its new design expression at Clerkenwell Design Week 2026. The showcase offers an opportunity to experience
the material, method, and thinking behind every curve — to engage with steam bending not simply as a technique, but as a defined design language. Central to the exhibition is our Scoop 33 Chair, which embodies our design philosophy and steam bending mastery. Every curve reflects the interplay of form, comfort, and structural integrity, showing how innovation emerges from restraint, precision, and deep material understanding. It is a continuation of our legacy in motion and a clear statement of where Woodbender moves next.

Working collaboratively is in their nature, the team engages with architects and designers early in the planning stages to ensure the lift enhances the home’s layout and flow. In a world long dominated by high-gloss lacquers and synthetic surface coatings, Osmo Polyx-Oils represent a quieter, more considered approach to wood finishing.
Rather than sealing timber beneath a rigid, plastic like film, Polyx-Oils work with the material— penetrating the wood fibres to protect from within while leaving the surface tactile, breathable, and unmistakably natural. The result is a finish that enhances grain and colour without obscuring character, allowing wood to look and feel like wood.
This balance of aesthetics and performance has made Polyx-Oils a staple in contemporary interiors. Durable enough for high-traffic floors yet refined enough for furniture and joinery, they resist wear, spills, and everyday abrasion while ageing gracefully over time. Unlike traditional finishes
that demand full sanding and refinishing, Polyx-Oils can be locally repaired or refreshed, extending the life of the surface rather than replacing it. It’s a practical advantage that aligns well with modern expectations of longevity and sustainability.

What truly distinguishes Osmo Polyx-Oils, however, is the philosophy behind them. In an era that values authenticity, material honesty, and understated luxury, these finishes offer a way to protect timber without diminishing its presence. Whether underfoot in a living space or across finely crafted doors and staircases, Polyx-Oils deliver a subtle sheen and warmth that speaks less of coating and more of craftsmanship—a finish designed not to dominate, but to endure.
Osmo offers a versatile range of Polyx-Oil finishes tailored to different aesthetic and functional needs. From Clear finishes that enhance the wood’s warmth, Raw Effect to retain the lightness of the wood (best used on lighter wood species), to the tinted versions that will offer a range of colours that will still showcase the natural grain of the wood through the finish.
Whether you’re looking to enrich the natural tone of oak with a clear finish or infuse a hint of colour into pine, Osmo Polyx-Oils provide a solution that works in harmony of the wood. This versatility makes them an ideal choice for architects, designers, and homeowners alike who seek to create spaces that are visually striking.
The application process of Osmo Polyx-Oils is also straightforward and user-friendly, enabling even the most novice DIY enthusiasts to achieve professional results.
