Led by intuition
For Danish interior designer and business owner, Mette Ditmer, design is not separate from everyday life, but a natural extension of the way she lives, observes and creates. Her ideas are often inspired by something as simple as a shape, a colour, a place, or an experience. At times, a design appears as a fully defined object in her mind, while at others it begins as a more abstract impression that gradually develops through the creative process.

A creative mind
Inspired by the beauty of natural imperfections, Mette Ditmer designs with a focus on authenticity rather than perfection. Her collections combine form, colour, texture, and function to create objects that bring personality and atmosphere into the home. Using honest materials and thought-through details, her designs feel timeless rather than trend-driven. Each piece balances aesthetics with everyday functionality, always rooted in the same core values: authenticity, harmony, and human connection.
The FLOOR vase is the definition of elegant understatement, where less is more. Crafted in iron with a matt transparent coating, its dark, raw finish highlights the balance between industrial character and timeless elegance.
Rooted in Mette Ditmer’s ceramic work, the WATER LILY deco bowl plays with the contrast between soft organic shapes and raw materials. Inspired by aquatic and floral forms, it reimagines delicate natural shapes in a solid stone finish. Botanical references meet the strength of stone, as if nature has been preserved in time. Like a fossil, a living form is captured and reinterpreted as something lasting for the home.

Chrome re-shaped
Stripped to its essentials, chrome enhances soft silhouettes through contrast. In the design of the SHELL vase, Mette Ditmer draws inspiration from the deep sea. The reflective surface of chrome echoes the movement of water, capturing a sense of depth, mystery, and quiet intensity. Nature’s organic forms are translated into a contemporary expression, where chrome meets the forces of the ocean to create an object with an almost monumental presence.
In a reflective mirror finish, SPHERE explores a pure celestial form where light and surface interact. Its smooth, round shape captures and distorts its surroundings, creating a presence that feels both grounded and weightless.
Design for the home should embrace real life, where aesthetics and functionality coexist.
Defined by detail
Signature colours, shapes, and details are thoughtfully explored and combined. Each design choice is made with consideration, allowing artistic expression to emerge through composition and contrast.
I always add a small detail to every new design. It can be in the form of a colour block or a contrasting hem.
