Vivalon

We are welcoming a new instructor to our Vivalon family.

Perry King has been professionally teaching Pilates, yoga, and strength training for over 30 years. Perry created PerrysPLANit to help people plan time for daily nourishment of mind and body. She incorporates different modalities of healing including breath, movement and balance. Her experience includes bringing together thought leaders in the fields of environmental education, health and fitness, theatre, community activism, nutrition and meditation and leading group exercise at the Baptiste yoga retreat at Green Gulch Zen Center. Experience our new Relax and Rejuvenate with Perry class based on the PerrysPLANit* method of guided meditation and gentle movement. The four-part series begins Tuesday May 3rd with a fee of $40 for members and $60 for non-members that covers all interactive sessions presented on Zoom. Participants are invited to engage in this rejuvenating afternoon class while enjoying a relaxing cup of tea on Tuesday afternoons 4:00–5:00 pm from May 3–24. IN THE

Thursday May 19 | 11:00am–1:30pm Join us for a luau including a Hawaiian style meal, hula performances by members from our very own hula class and a raffle for fresh leis and a ukulele! Our eight week long interactive group sessions facilitated by qualified healthy aging educators covers various health topics discussed in a supportive environment designed to engage and educate participants.

Talking Tech 4 Seniors Tuesdays | 10:30am–12:00pm

Reservation Required Talking Tech 4 Seniors continues with a new session. Learn how to use your smartphone better and how to share your great photos. During the Talking Tech 4 Seniors classes, you’ll learn tips and tricks to use a computer and mobile device to access the internet and better connect with the world. Join all classes from the start or join just the classes you need.

Zumba with Jimna

Mondays and Wednesdays 10:00am–10:45am New day and time in May! Do you like to exercise to music? How about trying Zumba and get fit while you dance and move to the groove! Beginning in May classes will be Monday and Wednesday mornings. Join Jimna for a rhythmic and fun workout!

Age-Friendly Intergenerational Center

Vivalon and Age-Friendly Intergenerational Center have partnered to offer some classes at Vivalon. Take a look at some of the additional classes available and register online only at age-friendlycenter.org/classes.

Albert J. Boro Community Center Partnership

The Albert J. Boro Community Center and Vivalon are once again partnering to bring older adults together for lively activities and events. The Albert J. Boro Community Center often referred to as the center of the Canal serves as a gathering place for the Canal neighborhood, the center provides classes, activities and events including martial arts, dance, open-gym sports, and art classes for children, adults and older adults. In the coming months we will be offering new classes and activities for older adults in the areas of healthy aging, outings to county parks and opportunities for social connection. An Afternoon on the Nile

Thursday June 16 | 11:00am–1:30pm Join us for an exotic afternoon on the Nile featuring a belly dance performance by Dhyanis who has taught, performed and studied belly dance for over 35 years. Also, enjoy festive Mediterranean cuisine prepared by our very own Stacy Scott, chef to the celebrities! Tickets are $12 members/$15 non-members and reservations are required.
