Funding intended to benefit habitat of Los Gatos Creek

It’s featured the Beatles, John Philip Sousa, Led Zeppelin and Booker T. Washington, and on April 14, around 185 Los Gatos High School students joined the ranks of people who have graced the stage at Carnegie Hall, during the 2023 Harmonic Convergence Concert. The Italian Renaissance Revival building at West 57th Street in New York is one of America’s most beloved instructions, known for its prestige and fantastic acoustics. “There were in awe, just from the scale of the building,” said Maricel Riley, LGHS’s choir director, recalling the reactions of her young singers. “When you snap your finger, like that, the sound just reverberates all the way to the back of the room.” The trip was a marker of reawakening for a music program that was decimated by the realities of the pandemic. “Online learning was very difficult,” Riley said, adding she’s relieved to have students singing in-person again. “There’s really no equivalent.” As kids have returned to ➝ Perform, 6
GROUP AWARDED $6.3M GRANT TO IMPROVE LOCAL WATERSHED Staff Report
The Los Gatos Creek Watershed Collaborative was awarded a $6,336,790 Cal Fire Forest Health Grant to continue work in the watershed, incorporating new treatment areas with Aldercroft Heights Firewise and Lupin Lodge, the Santa Clara County FireSafe Council announced May 2. This forest health project focuses on creating ecosystem resilience, mitigating the risk of, and reducing the severity of potential wildfire, while enhancing the safety of the surrounding communities, according to ➝ Watershed, 6

Visit Health Recovery’s first residential rehabilitation facility and outpatient clinic in Los Gatos will host counseling sessions, group meetings and classes, with the mission to provide customized care and treatment to address the mental, physical and spiritual problems that accompany addiction.
