EDITOR’S NOTE

Honoring the Best Through painstaking deliberations and difficult decisions, the community voted for their favorites. Now, in this issue, we unveil the winners of the annual Best of Morgan Hill awards. Readers had the chance to vote for a variety of businesses, events, organizations and more through an online ballot that was live for a month. With more than 110 categories to consider, at least 20 selections had to be made in order for the ballot to count. We received numerous entries, with

the community telling us their favorite places to eat, where to shop, what they like to do on the weekend and more. The results show many old favorites have once again reclaimed their titles, but plenty of others have been voted the best for the first time. Our Community Involvement Supporting our local communities is an important part of CommonWealthâ€™s purpose and culture. Throughout the year staff can be seen at local community events from passing out sunglasses at a Friday Night Music Series to painting and repairing homes for elderly and/or disabled homeowners with Rebuilding Together Silicon Valley. At local schools employees participate in Read Across America Day and Rock the Mock, an event where mock interviews are held for high school students to prepare them for college and job opportunities. Every year, we also award educational scholarships to graduating high school seniors who are passionate about giving back to the community. And most recently we launched a financial education program called CommonCents Scholars in local schools throughout Morgan Hill.
