Cold Case Task Force Identifies Suspect in 1997 Homicide By Raheem Soto A 28-year-old homicide and a related sexual assault case from 1996 have been resolved through modern forensic technology, the Suffolk County District Attorney’s Office announced this week. The suspect, identified as Steven Briecke, is deceased, but district officials say the findings bring long-awaited clarity to two cases that remained open for decades.

Stony Brook Clinical Trials Unit Opens in Commack Stony Brook Medicine marked a major milestone on November 10 with the opening of a new Clinical Trials Unit at Commack by hosting a ribbon-cutting ceremony and tours of the 6,000 square foot stateof-the-art space. The unit provides an opportunity for patients to be enrolled in cutting-edge therapeutic research studies and a one-stop collaborative environment for physicians and researchers to conduct innovative clinical trials at the Advanced Specialty Care at Commack facility located at 500 Commack Road in Commack.
