This Bloomsday, Denis Buckley arrives in Bray to undertake a five-week long engagement at Mermaid Arts Centre investigating perceptions of national identity in Ireland following the loss, last year, of fiscal sovereignty.
The investigation begins on Thursday 23 June with the opening of an exhibition featuring a portable confessional wherein people are invited to share their experience of belonging.
The exhibition along with a series of performances, discussions and film screenings will prompt discussion and participation into this timely debate. Throughout he will film and edit an original work to mark the engagement. The exhibition will finish with a screening of this new work on Thursday 21 July.
