It’s a kind of magic What is it, exactly, that we’re selling to you in the pages of this brochure? We believe it’s a kind of magic. Each performance, workshop, or group is an opportunity to experience something new. Buying a ticket or joining a class might mean an opportunity to connect with friends, or spend time with a loved one. It might mean exploring a subject new to you, or walking in someone else’s shoes through the power of storytelling. It could mean belly laughing in the comforting darkness of the auditorium or silently weeping tears of empathy. Your ticket may give you a glorious escape for a couple of hours or it could be a doorway into something you’ve never experienced before. Yes, theatre is a kind of magic and that’s what we deliver. The Comedy of Errors Fri 13 May-Sat 28 May

In Shakespeare’s screwball comedy, two sets of twins separated at birth unwittingly find themselves in the same city on the same day, leading to a string of mistaken identities and chaotic mishaps. Set at the decadent Hotel Ephesus in the roaring 20’s, our wild, whirling production of the bard’s first and funniest farce is packed to the rafters with puns, slapstick and gags galore.

Cowboy is an urgent and fantastical new play from writer Matt Gurr (Mercury Playwrights alumni), directed by Robbie Taylor Hunt (Mercury Directors alumni), about growing up gay and the desperate quest for happiness. 55+ Our Social Club is an opportunity for anyone aged 55 and over to connect with other members of our community, learn new skills and take part in fun activities. This is an opportunity for participants to get involved creatively and is a safe inclusive space to forge new friendships. The Social Club meets every Thursday from 12 ‘til 2 and the activities rotate on a monthly basis so the first session of each month will be the Meet Up, the second the Dance Group and so on… You can participate in as many of the activities as you wish – oh and the best part – brews and biscuits are included in the price!

Each week our experienced choreographer will teach routines inspired by hit musicals in our gorgeous dance studio. Incorporating energetic warm-ups and routines from classic and contemporary shows, you will be introduced to various styles such as Modern Jazz, Latin, Hip-Hop and many more.

Community Choir is a weekly get-together for people of all ages with a song in their heart and a spring in their step!

You will tackle the challenge of making Shakespeare’s unfamiliar words meaningful and explore the history, customs, political attitudes and everyday life of this time in history. Meeting every Thursday for 10 weeks, a Mercury Teaching Artist will introduce you to effective physical and vocal exercises, script analysis and improvisation techniques to build confidence, encourage spontaneity and strengthen connection. Improv 101 This inspiring termly fun-filled class explores the principals of improvisation with a focus on truthful performance, active listening and moment-to-moment interaction. Learn to create dynamic characters and scenes and improve your focus. Improv 101 is essential for improving your acting, confidence and communication skills. Our Improv 101 group will perform an improv night every term as part of our Lates programme. Delivered in partnership with Le Barre, Pilates is an intense, low-impact workout that comprises a variety of stretches achieved through precise poses to help you achieve a lean physique while challenging you mentally, physically and spiritually. Pilates is an effective stress release and mood booster, as well as being a brilliant way to keep fit. Highly experienced Pilates/Ballet instructors with years of Pilates, professional dance, fitness and wellness experience deliver our Pilates classes, which last for 55 minutes.

Here’s your chance to join a fun and fabulous workshop led by professional drag and performance artists, Dan Deller-Thompson (Drag Queen) and Lisa Warnock (AFAB Queen). Refreshments Our café bar is open Tues-Sun from 10am, during intervals and after evening performances. We serve a wide selection of light meals, cakes, pastries and snacks alongside a range of teas, coffees and alcoholic and soft drinks, including options sourced from local suppliers and prepared by our in-house kitchen. Interval drinks and ice creams can be preordered at the café bar or from your phone before the show and they will be waiting for you at the interval. Avoid the rush and we promise the ice cream will still be frozen and your drinks chilled!
