The Son is an imaginative journaling of Jesus’ life from ages 5 to 12. The Savior of the World as a convivial boy laughing, crying, studying, playing. Imagining colorful details consistent with the one verse we have of Jesus’ childhood. “The child grew and became strong, filled with wisdom; and the favor of God was upon him.” Luke 2:40
In the process of writing The Son, I interviewed a cross-cultural range of boys between the ages of five and twelve to capture their ideas. Their spontaneous responses were then incorporated into the book with credit given to the boys in the appendix.
The Son is unique in its appeal to the intellect of young and old alike. Biblical literature, art appreciation, literary techniques, historical insights, and Judeo-Christian principles are artistically interwoven into Mary’s poignant journal entries. -
