A tale of two families who followed the Santa Fe Trail to the “jumping off place,” Dodge City, Kansas, starting in 1879. Through incredible hardships and circumstances not for the faint-hearted, they met on the banks of Crooked Creek, a meandering tributary to the Cimarron River. This is their story, 1879- 1940, as seen through the eye of the children.
