Studio V Interconected family Designing 2 ADUs onto the historic original existing landscape of a Mar Vista home in LA. The Vite ADU are about creating a community within land. The project aims at creating community space from the courtyard but also private isolated spaces for each of the dwellings. The goal was to blend the new with the old. With the Vite home being relatively unchanged the new ADUs are to take some aspects of the Vite home and continue the language while also adding in modern design ideas and aspects. The homes focus on how not only the interconnecting lives of the family’s but mimics this into the overall shape and designs of the home. The homes chose to connect to the community though the reading garden in the front of the home with seating and a little library. The home also prioritizes sustainability to keep up with LA’s sustainability and renewable city approach. The occupants of the original Mara vista home is Ashley and Jose and there two 14 mouth old twins Maria and Allen. In the second ADU are Jose’s parents Pablo and Velaria, Pablo has been in a wheelchair for the past year and a half so the Adu was built to be completely accessible for him. The Third ADU has Jose younger brother Javier and his close friend Wendy. Existing home:Green ADU 2: Purple ADU 3: Blue
Studio V: Interconected family Designing an apartment complex for seniors and extended family’s on 10 previous mar vista home sites Community bridges is a development that houses both intergenerational family’s and senior living. The two are able to mingle withing the community courtyard that houses many seating and relaxation places. They are able to share a community room in one of the bridges and a gym that houses a rehab room in the other. Within all of the buildings there are a multitude of gathering spaces such as living room style community spaces, communal kitchens in the senior living and a multitude of outdoor baloneys that the residents can use to enjoy the LA weather. Along the transit stop holds a cafe and a daycare, residents withing Community Bridges are given priority access into the daycare. There is also a koi pond within the courtyard that serves as a learning space for the daycare. Community bridges is at an FAR of 2.

Studio VI: Community Greens Creating an architecture and environmental equity and justice center for Columia University, site straddls Manhattiveville and Harlem NYC. The project was made into a student COTE submission. The building comprises of 6 ßoors including the basement and utilizes sustainable building energy and design techniques to be environmentally friendly, all while having design studios, labs, classrooms and administrative ofÞces around a central atrium that ßows out to the urban forest.

Studio VII: Medows Kitchen Megan Hicks, Benjamin Purcel, Preston Ireland Meadows kitchen is located in Luther George park in Springdale Arkansas it’s a civic hub designed to confront food insecurity by bending education, community engagement end ecological stewardship. Located 1 block off of Emma ave and across from Tyson chickens headquarters meadows kitchen combines a demonstration kitchen, a greenhouse, food distribution hub and classrooms surrounded by outdoor gardens, an exterior market plaza and rainwater systems to create a living model of agricultural urbanism. Constructed as a combination of mass-timber and concrete the center redeÞnes the role of a public park as not only a place of leisure but also a place of learning, nourishment, resilience, and dignity by empowering residents through hands on training, expanded food access, and weaving sustainable food systems into the city’s cultural and ecological core.
