The Rebuild
Megan Hicks
The rebuild is a community center in downtown west St Louis that looks to continue the restoration of the former mill district. The site is directly across from one of ST. Louis newest attractions CITY PARK, which is an MLS stadium and year-round venue. St Louis started as a vibrant community originally populated by French European settlers after the Louisiana purchase. Until the great depression it could be considered Chicago before there was Chicago, scenes the great depression there have been waves of population within the city and many e orts to get it back to its booming vibrant self. This project works to continue that e ort. St Louis most notable building include the gateway arch, union station and Busch stadium. All of these monument buildings are part of the population our buildings hoping to attract. Our site is in a location that house many brick and cinder book buildings showcasing its historic past. Strangling th line of racial diversity our site slows for everyone to be welcome and include within the community serving building.

The Interconnected Mar Vista Family
Megan Hicks
The Ain ADU are about creating a community within land. The project aims at creating community space from the courtyard but also private isolated spaces for each of the dwellings and each Gonzales family. The goal was to blend the new with the old. With the Ain home being relatively unchanged the new ADUs are to take some aspects of the Ain home and continue the language while also adding in modern design ideas and aspects. The homes focus on how not only the interconnecting lives of the family’s but mimics this into the overall shape and designs of the home. The homes chose to connect to the community though the reading garden and little library in the front of the home. The home also prioritizes sustainability to keep up with LA’s sustainability and renewable city approach.

Community Bridges
Megan Hicks
Community bridges is a development that houses both intergenerational family’s and senior living. The two are able to mingle withing the community courtyard that houses many seating and relaxation places. They are able to share a community room in one of the bridges and a gym that houses a rehab room in the other. Within all of the buildings there are a multitude of gathering spaces such as living room style community spaces, communal kitchens in the senior living and a multitude of outdoor baloneys that the residents can use to enjoy the LA weather. Along the transit stop holds a cafe and a daycare, residents withing Community Bridges are given priority access into the daycare. There is also a koi pond within the courtyard that serves as a learning space for the daycare. Community bridges is at an FAR of 2.
