Watercolour, Final submission -A2

The focal point of this painting is the centre of the cave as it draws the viewer's eye through the use of texture and detail. It highlights the depth and structure of the cave, shown through the cracks, layers and uneven surfaces. The detail of the watercolour use helps create realism as the cave recedes inwards.

Mixed media - oil pastels, card, tonal and digital art

Final piece - Acrylic

For my National 5 expressive folio, I created this final painting using acrylic paint, inspired by the blue skies of Harris in Scotland. I focused on capturing the calm and open atmosphere of the landscape by using a wide range of blue tones throughout the sky and water. The sky was painted using layered brushstrokes to create movement within the clouds. The contrast between the sky with the darker hills help the viewer's eye across the composition.
