Dear Medina Country Club Members,
As we welcome the month of May, I’m excited to share several positive updates from around the Club.
We have continued to see wonderful membership growth, and it’s been especially encouraging to see a recent increase in membership inquiries. This momentum reflects the strong sense of community we are building together as we pursue our goal of becoming the premier family country club on Cleveland’s west side. Thank you for being such great ambassadors for the Club.

In support of that growth, we are continuing our Golf Membership Incentive Program. Current members who refer a new golf member will receive a one-month dues credit as our way of saying thank you. If you have friends, family, or colleagues who would enjoy the Club, now is a great time to introduce them.
Construction on the new clubhouse is progressing at an impressive pace. The steel framing is now nearly complete, and it truly highlights the remarkable scale and vision for this new space. Each week brings visible progress, and we look forward to sharing more milestones with you as we move ahead.
I would also like to extend a well-deserved shoutout to Brian Smoot and our maintenance team. The golf course is in outstanding condition, especially for this early in the season.
Brian and his team have worked tirelessly throughout the winter on numerous projects aimed at enhancing the overall playing experience. This effort culminated in the successful completion of spring aerification on both fairways and greens.
As you play, you may also notice the excellent work done clearing the creek between holes 4 and 6—another example of their dedication to improving both playability and aesthetics across the course.
I am also very proud of the new menu that Chef Brandon and the Culinary team have created. It really reflects the variety and creativity we strive to provide in the food options offered here at the Club.
I would also like to recognize the incredible staff here at MCC. Their effort and attention to detail truly help set our Club apart from others. We take great pride in showing how much your membership means to us through the level of service we provide each day. As we move into the busy season, we are excited to welcome back many of our seasonal team members following the completion of their school semesters, further strengthening the exceptional service experience you’ve come to expect.
Thank you for your continued support and enthusiasm. We look forward to a fantastic season ahead and to seeing you around the Club soon. Warm regards,

Kirby Manown General Manager
Tournament season is officially underway at Medina Country Club. This month’s schedule includes the Men’s Opening Day Scramble, Lilac Ladies Spring Day, the Men’s Old Pal Qualifier, and a Couples Twilight event. Please note that it is also handicap posting season—an active GHIN handicap is required for all tournament play. If you need assistance establishing a handicap, please contact me at Jason.martin@medinacc.com.
As we continue to enhance course conditions, we appreciate your support in maintaining the golf course. Divot mix is available to repair areas where divots cannot be replaced; however, whenever possible, please replace
intact divots. Additionally, repairing ball marks on the greens helps ensure quicker healing and better playing conditions for all. We take great pride in our course and thank you for doing the same. We hope to see you in the Pro Shop soon!

It is good to see golfers back on the course after the winter that came through Ohio. In my opinion, the golf course is playing well right now and if we can dodge a rainstorm or two things will get much better. As many of you know, we have aerified greens and fairways over the past few weeks and the turf is healing nicely. From a maintenance standpoint aerification is essential to the long term health of the golf course and it's always nice to have that behind us. This season when we aerified, it came with a great

deal of rain and because of this we have been unable to topdress greens to this point. As soon as the weather allows, we will get out there and topdress the greens to finish the process. To ensure the putting surfaces are as fast and smooth as possible, we mow and roll daily when the weather allows. The next big issue on our radar is spraying to keep the dandelion population to a minimum, we have a really good jump on this, so I am really happy where we are at right now.

RESCHEDULED FOR JUNE 13, 2026

May is here and the golf season is in full swing. After yet another rainy April, we hope everyone is ready to get out on the golf course as much as possible. As construction continues with the New Clubhouse, it’s so exciting to have a bird’s eye view of what is coming here at MCC.
There is a full calendar of events from the golf side with Men’s Opening Day and the Old Pal Qualifier. Chef Brandon plans on turning up the food game for Tournaments. We will also be changing on course beverages that we do on Tournament Days. We will have a little more variety so everybody can enjoy. The A Frame will also be open for business Full Time for the rest of the season. Claudia will be serving everyone all new snack and food options along with all your favorite refreshing beverages.
May and warmer weather also signify the Opening of the Pool. The Pool opens on Friday; May 22 and we will celebrate all weekend long with plenty of fun in the sun. The Annual Memorial Day Party will be on Monday, May 25th. Plenty of activities, music, and fun will be planned for the entire family to enjoy. We can’t forget the food as we plan on dazzling everyone with some fantastic Memorial Day favorites. We will also be stocking a whole new selection of Ice Cream favorites out at the pool including the ever-so-popular Dip & Dots. From adult slushies to yummy kids’ treats and snacks, we plan on having all your pool needs covered. Let’s have an amazing May and I look forward to seeing everyone at the Club.
