Dear Medina Country Club Members,

As we move into another exciting summer season at Medina Country Club, I want to begin by expressing how thankful I am for our incredible staff and all of their hard work in making Medina Country Club such a special place. Our goals remain clear: to provide the very best service possible and to continue building the premier family club experience in Greater Cleveland. The dedication, professionalism, and attention to detail displayed by our team each day create the foundation for achieving those goals. We are also excited to welcome back our seasonal team members as they return for the summer months and help us continue delivering a firstclass experience for our membership.

After a challenging stretch of weather t his spring, it is great to finally see warmer and drier conditions arriving. We truly appreciate our members’ patience and understanding regarding golf cart usage throughout April and May, as conditions were not what any of us had hoped for. Thankfully, course conditions and cart access should continue improving as we head into June. Brian and his team have done a wonderful job providing world class playing conditions on the Championship 18 and getting the Reversible ready to go!

Golf event registrations have also been extremely strong to start the season. We saw record registrations for Opening Day and Old Pal, and the July Invitational sold out very quickly. Our Lilac Ladies events have seen wonderful registration numbers as well! Thank you for your continued support and enthusiastic participation in these events — it is wonderful to see such excitement and engagement throughout the club. I would also like to thank Jason and Logan for their hard work getting the golf operation ready for the season.

General Managers Desk

New clubhouse construction continues to progress very well. The construction team has begun work on the exterior walls, and nearly all of the flooring has now been poured. It has been exciting to watch the project continue taking shape, and we look forward to sharing more progress with everyone in the weeks ahead. We are especially looking forward to seeing everyone at the Clubhouse Event on June 9th! We have detailed new traffic patterns through the parking lot to allow for a safe commute for Members to and from the UPC/Range. Please watch for signage and large construction vehicles while navigating the parking lot!

Straight From The Fairway

We are excited to welcome our new golf cart fleet to the club. The new carts are a significant upgrade and look fantastic out on the course. Each cart will be stocked with scorecards, pencils, towels, sand bottles, and bottled water. In addition, water refill stations will be available at the shelter between holes 5 and 6, as well as hole 14, for members wishing to refill their bottles. The Golf Shop is also fully stocked with new merchandise for the season. We have a tremendous selection of men’s, women’s, and junior apparel, along with a wide variety of golf bags and equipment. Featured equipment includes the new Titleist GTS drivers and fairway woods, with demo clubs available for testing. We also have an excellent putter selection from Scotty Cameron, TaylorMade, Odyssey, and Ping.

Course Updates

• The right side of holes 16 and 17, previously marked as a red penalty area, is now in play.

•The right side of hole 18 remains a no-play zone and must still be treated as a red penalty area, requiring players to take relief back on the course. On hole 18, balls hit in the red penalty area must be left there and they cannot enter the construction area under any circumstances. This out of bounds boundary is only for hole 18 and does not apply to hole 1.

•The internal out of bounds remains along the left side of 18. If your ball comes to rest left of the stakes, the ball may not be played and standard out of bounds procedures must be followed. Playing from the out of bounds area creates both safety concerns and delays on the first tee. The out of bounds does not apply on hole #1

Outdoor Practice Facility

The outdoor practice facility is now fully open, weather permitting. On days designated as walking only, all practice activity will take place indoors at the UPC.

Outdoor practice facilities are available to golf members and their guests when playing golf, as well as social members who have added the range pass. The practice area will be monitored, and we ask that members display either their white golf member bag tag or green range pass bag tag while using the facilities. YOU MUST DISPLAY A WHITE MEMBER TAG, GREEN RANGE TAG OR DAY GUEST TAG TO BE PERMITTED ON THE RANGE AND PRACTICE AREA.

Proper golf attire is required at all outdoor practice areas. We will continue to rotate practice areas between grass and mat use throughout the season. On mat-only days, we ask that all members refrain from hitting from the grass with any clubs, including irons and drivers. While drivers may not create divots, foot traffic and weight transfer during the swing can still cause significant damage to the turf. Your cooperation will help us maintain healthy practice conditions for everyone. Finally, we kindly ask that speakers not be used at the practice facility. Earbuds and headphones are permitted.

2026 MCC Hole In One Club

• You must register via Golf Genius-2026 Hole in One Club

• $10.00 will be charged to each Member in the hole in one Club for every hole in one made by a Member of the hole in one Club.

•If a Hole in one club Member makes an ace, they will receive $500 in pro shop credit, and the flag from the hole will be framed and presented to the Member. Details of the hole and shot will be commemorated on the frame of the flag.

• Every Hole in one Club Member on property of the time of the ace will receive a free drink.

• Hole in ones on the Championship 18 and Reversible Count.

• Hole in ones must be witnessed by a non-family Member in the group, this includes guests.

Notes From The Grounds Crew

I would like to take this opportunity to give you an update on the golf course from the maintenance staff. As we all know, this has been a difficult spring for everyone associated with the Club due to abnormal weather conditions. My goal every day is to provide the best conditions allowable to the members and guests while continuing to improve the golf course. Because of the wet spring it has been difficult to accomplish normal tasks, but I can tell you we are heading in the right direction. The golf course is finally firming up, and I am happy to say that we can now mow 99% of all in play areas.

When the weather has allowed, we have been mowing and spraying the golf course. A good portion of the golf course has been sprayed for dandelions and clover, but we will always continue to try to eliminate those pests. We have also utilized some of this time for working on the new reversible nine and the driving range. The reversible is set to open and will be a work in process for the next few months. I am very pleased with the conditions, most especially the greens, but the condition as a whole continues to improve.

Looking into the near future, we are getting ready to fertilize the entire golf course and spray a preventative herbicide for crabgrass. In the past, we have hired an outside company to come in and fertilize for us, but due to conversation and Mr. Cosgrove's willingness to put us in the right position we will be taking care of this in-house from this point forward.

2026 Pool Season Information

Dear Medina Country Club Members,

It’s officially pool season at Medina Country Club! We are excited to welcome you back for another wonderful season. Please take a moment to review the information and rules below to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all members and guests.

Pool Hours & Access

Hours: Tuesday – Sunday, 11:00 AM – 7:00 PM

Access: Golf Members and Social Members both have access to the pool.

Guests: Guests: Members may bring guests to the pool. When signing in, you do not need to list yourself or your immediate family members as guests. Only those outside your membership coverage need to be registered and paid for as guests at $9.00 per person.

Who counts as a guest depends on your membership type:

• Family Membership: A guest is anyone who is not part of your immediate family. This includes extended family members such as grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins, as well as adult children over the age of 26 who are no longer covered under your family membership.

• Single Membership: A guest is anyone other than yourself. This means that even immediate family members, including a spouse, children, or parents are considered guests.

Mandatory Pool Breaks

The pool will observe mandatory 15-minute breaks every hour. No one under the age of 18 may be in the pool during pool breaks. Small children may remain in the water during breaks only if they are in a flotation device and accompanied by a parent.

Private Swim Lessons

Private swim lessons are available and will be conducted by our certified lifeguards who hold their Water Safety Instructor (WSI) license. To book a lesson, please see the lifeguard at the snack shack at the pool.

Umbrella Safety Policy

Pool umbrellas pose a serious safety risk if not handled properly — when caught by the wind, they can become airborne and cause significant injury to those nearby. Members should never open, close, or adjust pool umbrellas themselves. Please always ask a staff member for assistance. When wind gusts exceed 15 mph, all pool umbrellas will be closed and will remain closed for the safety of everyone on the pool deck. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation with this policy.

Pool Rules

For the safety and enjoyment of all, please observe the following rules at all times:

• No running.

• No pushing or throwing anyone in the pool.

• No playing on the stairs.

• No playing on or hanging from the rope.

• No excessive splashing or dunking.

• No sitting on shoulders.

• No jumping over or diving over other swimmers.

• No roughhousing.

• No profane language.

• No large inflatables or pool floats

• No mermaid tails or any equipment that locks the feet together.

• Members should never open or adjust pool umbrellas themselves — please ask a staff member for assistance at all times.

• No one under the age of 18 in the pool during pool breaks. Exception: Small children may remain in the pool during breaks if they are in a flotation device and accompanied by a parent.

• No diving in the shallow end.

We appreciate your cooperation in following these guidelines. They are in place to keep everyone safe and to ensure a fun environment for our entire membership. We look forward to a wonderful pool season!

Inside The Clubhouse

What a Spring it has been with all the rain and gloom. Hopefully all the wetness is behind us, and we can get an amazing Summer full of warm weather and dry conditions. While the rain may have slowed us down, we are still putting the pedal to the metal here at the Club.

Please be sure to join us on Tuesday, June 9th for the Construction Open House Party and Get Together. Members will be able to come and take tours of the new Clubhouse and put their signatures on one of the pillars to cement their place and memory of the beginning of a new era with the new Clubhouse. We are all so excited to have everyone be a part of this monumental occasion. Men’s Opening Day will also be held on June 13th so make sure everyone signs up and enjoys everything that comes with celebrating the new golf season, even though we had to delay it due to Mother Nature.

Medina Cup and Father’s Day will also be huge hits to attend here at the Club as Chef Brandon and his team will be ready with more amazing food to enjoy. Happy Fathers Day to all the amazing Dads here at the Club. We hope you and the entire family can come to celebrate with us as we honor all our dad’s.

I hope everyone is ready to play tons of golf and hit the pool as we are ready to get the Summer off to a blazing start. I look forward to seeing you all out at the Club.

From The Academy

Summer is finally here and the Academy is in full swing. If this is the year that you want to improve your game, we would love to help. We offer group lessons (mens, ladies, couples and juniors), individual lessons, and junior leagues.

We are excited to begin our 5th year of PGA Junior League at Medina Country Club. We will once again have a 13 and under league and a high school league. We would not be able to run our award-winning leagues (top 20 in the country) without the support of the Cosgrove family and the members of Medina Country Club. We understand that our leagues take valuable course time and we cannot thank you enough for allowing us on the course. This year, our leagues should reach over 250 children in their quest to learn the game of golf.

We thought it would be a good idea to let you know the days and times that our programs will be on the course. Please know that there will always be 18 holes open while we are on the course.

Sundays, mid-June thru July4:30-8:00 pm (typically front nine)

Mondays, mid-June thru July1:00-2:30 pm (back nine)

Mondays, mid June thru July4:30-8:00 pm (typically front nine)

Thursdays, mid-June thru July8:30 am (alternate front nine/reversible)

Fall Leagues begin in late August and will be on Sundays and Tuesdays 430-8:00

Our clinics have begun and we are happy to see that participation continues to grow. These programs all take place at the teaching tee and short game area. If you come over to the short game area during one of our clinics, please know that we are very aware of keeping an area open for member practice. We may have several groups in different areas but we always make sure that there is an area for you to practice.

It is rare to see a private club have a large academy. We understand that and we appreciate you working with us to accomplish this. The foresight of Medina Country Club to strive to be the best club imaginable AND also be committed to player improvement and new player development is a combination that makes Medina CC a leader in the golf world.
