ABOUT THE MEDICAL DISTRICT The Memphis Medical District is the home to Memphis’ major medical and educational institutions, and a growing community of 10,000 residents, 30,000 employees, and over 8,000 students. The Medical District’s historic neighborhoods — the Pinch, Uptown, Peabody-Vance, the Edge, Victorian Village, and Madison Heights — offer an eclectic mix of businesses, architectural styles, and cultural offerings to the growing community of people who come here to live, work, learn and play. The Memphis Medical District Collaborative (MMDC) works with anchor partners to strengthen the connections, communities, and campuses in the Memphis Medical District so they are more vibrant, prosperous, and equitable.
