■ The first step indeveloping new, active recreation tourism infrastructure in Eildon will be considered at the Murrindindi Shire Council meeting to be held tonight (Wed.). Councillors appear likely to award a $5 million contract with works to be completed by 30 October 2024. The project will activate underutilised parkland in Walter Moore and Thomas Marr Reserves. “It will strengthen Eildon’s tourism offerings, create a new visitor experience, provide a yearround, affordable, family friendly attraction, increase foot traffic and catalyse private investment in Eildon,” says a report to Councillors. “The project will transform the Reserves and replace outdated infrastructure with new, acces-

sible, contemporary attractions. New infrastructure in the Thomas Marr Reserve will include a wheeled sports space (Skate Park), senior play space as well as landscaping/fencing. “New infrastructure in the Walter Moore Reserve will include a splash park and toilet/ change facilities, adventure playground (regional level playground and flying fox), BBQ and shelter and an improved pedestrian link between the two reserves,” says the report.
