Mentoring women in Ranges ■ Yarra Ranges Shire Council is partnering with Eastern Health and Cire Services for the Voices Of Women's Taking it Step by Step Mentoring Women program. The program runs for six months, and is aimed at women aged 18 and over, where volunteer mentors are paired with women looking for support in achieving a personal or professional goal.

■ Evelyn MLA Bridget Vallence took on Premier Daniel Andrews last Thursday, claiming that a constituent, ‘Stephanie’, had not received any follow-up regarding her 10-month wait for surgery to repair her facial disfigurement as a consequence of removing cancer from her tongue. “No, no—the department has spoken with the patient in question. That is the advice I have,” replied Mr Andrews. “Stephanie, my constituent, is not a liar, said Ms Vallence, who demanded that the Premier table the advice. “This pandemic has seen a number of surgeries cancelled and a number of patients impacted by that,” said Mr Andrews. Ms Vallence said she had written to Health Minister Martin Foley: “I confirm that neither I nor Stephanie have received any response or contact from the health minister or anyone in the government or Department of Health about her painful situation.”
