GREEN WEDGE AT RISK

■ Mornington Peninsula Shire Council is pushing for local residents to campaign to Planning Minister Sonya Kilkenny about the Green Wedge. The Council wants to see Green Wedge land protected from over development and subdivision. “We need to stop important planning decisions being

taken away from our community and chipping away at our natural environment,” said a Council representative. There are several parcels of land hat do not currently have specific Green Wedge Zone protection. The Shire is calling on the State Government for an urgent change to local planning controls.
